FWIW, my muzzleloader shoots a 300 gr bullet @ 2750 fps, and that is a bit milder than some shoot them.

There are probably a good couple dozen surplus 12/24v IR systems going back 60 years. Some of the scout/armor/NBC vehicle IR lights could illuminate several hundred yards as well as field lights in a football stadium. The method of take mounted IR regulation on the book isn't "it is what it is." It's an idiot's rule that should easily be corrected by reasonable (liability adverse) parties if they were to be given a practical demonstration of the technique they put on the books as a regulation. I believe it was AL lost their night hunting over a NV related line of duty death to one of their forest rangers a decade ago. |

I think I'm just gonna say screw it, get a NEF heavy barrel slug gun, ream the chamber to 4", blow BMG brass to a straight wall, add a rim and kill a deer with a 12 gauge from hell. |

That's just crazy talk ![]() Ed Hubel already did the hard part. Best part is it still shoots standard 12 gauge ammo. Very fitting fuck you, but the donor gun has gotten hard to find. Obviously, the heavy barrel is a must. .45-70 and .444 disallowed because they have more energy than a 12 gauge? Let's show them what a 12 gauge can do. |

View Quote Those Heavy barreled single shot Ultra Slug hunters were nice shotguns. I used one for the last decade I gun hunted and the thing was a tack driver. |
