Not much to it. Basically...set up all the targets, everybody load a full magazine, and away we go!! Rifle, pistol , shotgun, artificial leg––who cares. Just shoot the moral equivalent of 30 rounds of M-16 in about one minute.

Lots of bowling pins and small tannerites are ideal. You guys know what works well by now. Dry and dusty adds to the ambience, but we can't control that. Well––-at least not legally.

If all you have is something with small magazines, you may want to shoot more than one––nobodys counting.

If you are the THE_JET, you may want to pace yourself. We know you can't afford to burn up 106 rounds of Mosin-Nagant in 60 seconds.

Tarp courtesy is waived for this particular event (unless you are shooting a damn .22LR). Better to spread out than to get an unintended earful of .308 muzzle brake...or worse.

We'll be needing some volunteers though...

>>> Need 2 videographers. One needs to film the targets. The other needs to film the shooters. (They should be the only 2 not shooting. Everyone else... I suggest that you pick up a weapon and stand a post. )(Well, we could probably use some backup cameramen and a flagholder as well)

>>> Need a volunteer to supervise manufacturing of tannerite tennis balls (and other imaginative items). I'll bring plenty of tennis balls and a little tannerite.

>>> For God-sakes, we need somebody to use an M-1. Ideally, the last round fired will be from a Garand. Actually, that may be a law somewhere.

>>> Need a ceremonial starter ( i.e. someone needs to yell something fitting, like "WOLVERINES!!" or "WHERE THE HELL IS PCR!!" to kick things off) . In the absence of a starter, the signal for "commence firing" will be a rifle shot.

>>> Need two final-checkers, or whatever the hell you groundpounders call 'em. Basically, stake out your own spot in the middle of the line, and at the last minute, each do a walk-behind of your half of the line to make sure we aren't scrunched too much, etc.

>>> Also need a ceremonial "locksmith". I think the honors should go to one of our junior shooters. Duties will be to yell "LOCK and LOAD" when we tell you to. If there are too many volunteers for this, the winner will be decided by haircut.

>>> Need someone to hold a full mag in reserve, just in case we get jumped by Meth-Heads as the final en-bloc hits the ground.

>>> Need someone to find a video of the house scene in "The Gauntlet' and post a link in this thread.

>>> Oh yeah, almost forgot––-someone needs to bring rope.

I'm sure you guys will think of some more "embellishments"

Start time is 2:23 PM LCR Standard Time––-which in laymans terms, translates to 2:23ish

Ideally, 1GR will not see this post, and he will mosey in at about 2:20, smiling to himself at how quiet it is.

P.S. I think I just figured out the perfect starting command. Let's see how long it takes you guys to guess it!!!

I am all over this.

1. I designate EatsWheneverSheWants to be the yeller.

2. My kids and I will lead the charge to make tannerite balls. We have considerable experience in this area.

3. If anyone is interested, I will bring 4 or 5 betamags for an encore blast. I will donate the mags, the ammo is up to you. LMK ahead of time, so I'll know to bring 'em.

4. What else...hmmmm

5. I'll supply the Garand and a couple loaded clips.

Damn commie cartridges. What the hell would I know about them. I guess it would have to be an M-14 mad minute at 3:08

I was saving 5:56 in case 1GR delayed until 5:30...or until he camped again. He would love a 5:56 AM shoot!!

Little_Gator volunteers for the locksmith duty and I'm sure that Gatorette and her guest would do the filming if we all wanted to shoot

Your math is all wrong!!

This event is designed solely because ammo is so expensive and everybody needs to conserve.

Watch and learn...

It'll take us 20 minutes to get everyones attention and set up targets
Then another 5 to answer questions like: 'can I shoot more than 1 mag?' 'Is anybody counting?' 'Why do we need rope?' and 'where the hell is Mike_in_Seattle when we really need him?'
Then another 5 minutes for : 'oh wait––I forgot my rifle!! 'and 'oh wait, I forgot my M-1 mags!!' and 'they're not mags, they're en-blocs! and 'hold my beer!'
Then another 3 minutes to write the a script for little_gator so he can remember his lines
Then a minute to shoot
5 minutes for high-fives
2 more minutes for the smoke to clear
Then 10 minutes tops to put out the fires and tend to the wounded...uh, depending on the breaks.

That adds up to something like 106 minutes, during which you would have fired 87 rounds. Mad minute only costs you 30. That comes out to be an attacks cut of 57 rounds!!!!

"Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!" *

"Baa Ram Ewe"

"Gary?"

"Yes, we can!"

* I just found out that Wayne Allwine (the voice of Mickey Mouse since the 70s) passed away a few months ago. He was married to Russi Taylor who voiced Minnie.

I love a good crossfire. I never thought about putting targets in the center.

1. I'm game for a beta-mag

2. I'm with fish...."Yes! We Can!"

I'll bring 5 betas. 2 rules: 1. Mad Minute means FULLY LOADED. 2. I'll be happy to do the loading with my LULA. Us old geezers look for any excuse to sit down.

I would also like to make the suggestion that no body shoots tracers this trip. I know it rained a bit but the woods are still dry.

It's supposed to rain Friday night/Saturday morning, but this is a good suggestion.

Looks like we have the key positions manned. We'll grab a couple people when the time comes to check the line. If you are joining the line at last minute it is probably best to join on the end rather than to sneak in between 2 shooters who had already established a comfortable separation.

25 hours until "GOML"

See you there!
