I'll provide food if people are ok with chipping in for costs. I have a grill and we can either take everything with us so we can grill and shoot or we can do the shooting and then come back and eat.

I'm thinking the menu will be as usual:
Burgers
Dogs
Chips
Potato Salad
Macaroni Salad
Water
Sodas
Beer is strictly BYOB
and if you're all good..maybe:

PIE! (with ice cream)

Any sugesstions are encourged if its anything like last year it will be a (no pun intended) BLAST!

Beer after shooting right I don't like to mix my drinking with my guns.

I think that goes without saying.

Then why say it?

Hey BBQ,

1) Date picked yet?

2) I'm GTG on any food arrangement you want to do, chip in or bring something.

3) What about "dependents"? My wife might like to come up, and possibly my daughter, if that's OK.

4) I'm not far from CrazyIrishman and know where he is, if I'm coming up he can probably ride with me/us. Can't commit until date is set/cleared, though.

Marty, you copy?

5) I have some 3/8" thick AR500 steel plates I made up mainly for long range rifle targets. Most are full size torsos for 600-1k+, but I do have some smaller ones (4", 6", 8") that could be used up closer. They'll take hits fine from just about anything not armor piercing and smaller than .50BMG. I use those el-cheapo sawhorse brackets, 2x4's and chain to swing them from stands - all self contained, would just need a backstop for the "near hits". If your range setup lends itself to putting a few out, I could bring them if I can get up there.

Bullets go to small frags & dust on impact. This a larger piece of it, these hits just spray painted off and you can see the blotches from old hits underneath the paint that's there.:

I wonder if my Title 2 paperwork will be approved by then.

Either way I'm about 98% sure I'll be there.

I would love to come, I'm open any date except June 24th (20 year class reunion that day). Is NFA stuff welcome at this cookout?

It can't be the 27, as all the good ARFcommes should be heading down to Sanners Lake for their 3 gun match.

Ah so, grasshopper.....we are having an "IDPA" (sort'a) rules vary, all steel shoot that week end. Includes Th, Fri and Sat. The prizes are strictly "door prizes" drawn randomly and not on how you shoot. Winners have bragging rights only. Trying to make this an annual event. The 3-gun has been deferred to May. I'll get the dates out soon. COME ON DOWN!!!!

Actually I'm really looking to have it on a SAturday and not Memorial Day weekend since I'm sure most people will have cookouts and other stuff to attend.

NFA is welcome!

Oh, oh oh, can I come out and play with my Fat Mac in FA?????????If yes, I'll be there bub.

As of now, I can make it on any of those dates. Unfortunately my understanding is that Md doesn't like people bringing mg's in from out of state, but I might be wrong about that. I'll find out though. If it can be done (NFA toys) the later dates would make it easier to get the needed forms approved and back from ATFE. If not, I'll at least bring a can or two.

It's such a long haul to get there though....
Link Posted: 4/2/2006 10:47:34 AM EDT
I've never heard of MD being hard on out of state MG's, but maybe I'm uninformed (again) - where did you hear that? AFAIK, just file your interstate form with the feds (now) and you should be GTG.

Me and my brother can make it pretty much any weekend. (I should be studying for finals on the 13 or 14th, but who could pass up shooting and BBQ?) I had lots of fun last year, but I hope that we can do a little longer range shooting for whoever brings rifles.

My daughter should also be studying that weekend for her own finals, but she's shooting that tactical match with me this year . . . gotta get a grip on your priorities. . .

Hey BBQMAN, pick a date yet?
(I just can't do the 13th. the 20th is very good for me and the 6th is do-able)

{edit; I can do first or second weekend in June too, as per the first post}

I'm new to the board but I'm looking forward to coming.

Thanks

BTW, I do have an EZ-up shelter I can bring. Also, so far it looks pretty good for NFA stuff. I just have to make absolutely sure.... June would be best for me. The later the better, but anytime in June should be no problem.
