I wonder if it'd be worth my time, this go around ;)

Well, I heard that the post-New Year's show in Louisville was very, very busy. Last weekend I went to the Cave City show, a really small show ... and it was busier and bigger than ever.
Does anyone know if there is a general trend that gun shows around or after Christmas and the New Years are better? |
|
I think I got more stuff at the last Hopkinsville gun show than I have at the last 10 gun shows I've been to. Of course I was working at it so I was there the whole time. It's a pretty good one for a small gun show. One of the few I am going to continue going to. See Y'all there.

The Hopkinsville gun show has been pretty interesting the past few years. I've not gone home empty handed lately.

|
The Hoptown show is normally one of the better "small" shows.
" Last weekend I went to the Cave City show, a really small show ... and it was busier and bigger than ever." I was there Saturday afternoon and there was hardly anybody there. I've never seen it like that before. I guess it depends on when you go. |
|
i thought about skipping it - you guys have pretty much talked me into it

Opens at 0800?
I haven't been in 2 years. Hope they have better deals than the last one I went to. They had lots of stuff, but wanted lots of $$$ too. |

Prices were high EVERYWHERE. Remember what it was like trying to buy ammo and reloading components? Things are back to normal now. |

Last one I attended was quite a bit before the election. So the "I have to get it now" hadn't kicked in all the way. I was shopping for a new hunting rifle, and those were UP there in price. MSRP or MSRP+. They wanted new prices for used. |

Anybody want to get together before the show for breakfast somewhere?

Anybody want to get together before the show for breakfast somewhere? Shoney's sounds good to me ...although Ryan's might be Kosher for a group. What time Saturday? |
|
I'll be ready for a meal by that Saturday.
Yall name it, anywhere is OK with me. |
|
Wish they would do a better job advertising around Ft. Campbell. Too many Billboards in Hoptown and no where else!

Saturday, January 29th @ 0930 for breakfast buffet @ Ryan's, y'all ...I'll get the table reserved under the name "catass"
No, really, it'll be reserved under "the ar-15 group." Sound good? Who's in so I know how many seats to get? |

We don't want all the sweet deals to be gone when we get there. |
|
I'll be there at whatever time y'all decide. Better to reserve under "arfcom" but at least saying I'm with the AR15.com group is better than saying I am looking for some Cat Ass.

Day after tomorrow.
How does Ryan's in Hopkinsville at 08:00 sound for breakfast? |

How does Ryan's in Hopkinsville at 08:00 sound for breakfast? Yep, exactly what I was thinking ... I'll call them tomorrow to make sure they've got some bigger tables together. |

I may have one or both of my kids with me. My older daughter may be working the show so she might have to be at the show before that. If she doesn't have to be there early then she will be at breakfast with me. If she's not working the show then I will leave her and her sister at home.

Sorry, I just back from the SHOT Show and all that Vegas has to offer…I’ll be leaving now |

I made the reservation @ Ryan's for 0800. Just let them know you're with "AR15.COM" and they'll get you seated. I'll be there with my younger boy around 0730.

I'll be there with both my daughters at 0800 maybe a few minutes earlier.

What do yall think about eating around 8:00 am?
I'll be there |

Glad I could stop by for a few. Always good to be among my people

breakfast + good company + gun show = a good day +1 Good to see everyone, we need to get together and shoot again soon. I'll see what we can do about making that happen |

So what did everyone think of the show?
What did you think of the prices? Wanted to go today to see if more willing to wheel and deal. My buddy was interested in a gun from the Sherwood Guns Table. They had a used one and a new one side by side, $50 bucks difference. The guy from Sherwood was not willing to negotiate at all. So he kept his gun and my buddy didn't spend any money. I thought the prices were a little high, although the vendor from Oak Grove seemed to be willing to negotiate/good attitude and was making quite a few sales. I seen a lot of ARs being brought through the door/check in for sale/trade. There was an Ole' timer that had a Norinco M14 (Semi) that was asking $800,and dropped to $700. Kind of wished I had let the thing follow me home. |
|
Quoted: So the guy finally came off his "Have to have $200" price. I was standing at the table the first time he brought it by.SNIP I ended up getting a few jars of salsa and jam from that one table, a couple t shirts, a little ammo and this Rossi Pump .22 for $150 SNIP Nice little gun. |
|
Yeah, I told steve to keep an eye out for a decent priced .22 pump for me, and he got the guy down to $150 for me. The stock has a pretty good crack in it but I should be able to fix that.
Which one were you? Have we met? |
|

Which one were you? Have we met? I don't think we have met. I was just standing at the end of the table talking to a Buddy, when the .22 guy was walking by, and the gun shop guy (from your comments I now know as Steve) asked what you got there, and guy handed over to Steve. I think you were on my left (if you are who I think you are by the situation we are discussing). steve then handed to someone else outside the table enclosure (which I assume was you). That is when I heard the conversation back and forth about the price, and heard the .22 guy say he had to have $200 out of it. I couldn't make the breakfast with you all, as had something going during that time frame. Maybe next time. |
|
Yeah, Steve was already discussing it with the guy when I walked up and was standing there watching. Then Steve handed it over the table to me to look at since I was the guy he was asking about it for in the first place. I asked him to keep an eye out for a decent priced pump .22 back at the last Clarksville show.

I got to stop in on the way home from E-town Sunday. Not a bad little show but nothing followed me home.
