I don't know how this wouldn't be legal in CA. I know they make legal tommy guns and these look to be the closest to being legal.

just got to the Cal doj's website, and you will se what is legal, and illegal.

maybe

remove the pistol grip and extend the stock for some grip, like a mini14. Keep part of your hand above that imaginary line

We KNOW the history of the tommy gun. It was FULL AUTO with a short barrel. That was what made it effective....

If you can find one in .22LR it will be legal, same reason why the Armscor AK22 and AR22 are legal in CA. (although all guns mentioned here are buttugly...)

So would the Armi-Jager AP-74 and AP-80 would be legal in CA? They are .22lr Ak-47's and M16's.

Yes, they are, BUT they only come with 15rd mags, which cannot be imported.
