Hoffman's Ruger 10/22 Special :

I want to build a Liberty Training Rifle and start taking kids to local Appleseed training. The Appleseed recommends the Ruger 10/22 and I don't have one. I am just trying determine if the current Hoffman's deal is anything special.

looks like a decent deal prolly saving you about 75 to 100 the rifle new is about 200 to 250, the mag will run you about 15 to 25 and the box of ammo should run you 10 to 20 or so. is that an instore deal or mail in?

Excellent deal, the gun itself is $215 or so around here, plus you're getting $30 or so in extras.  I'd jump on it.

Why do these things always happen when I have no money, or the money I have is spoken for?

Absolutely.  Grab that.  I've got two and don't need another but this one is an excellent deal to be sure.

$119 at walmart long ago....

what's the advantage of this "liberty training rifle" business over the regular, just fine, ruger stock?

No I didn't see anything about that one, I was in there last week and have my eye on something in that used gun cabinet I might have to go up and get soon.
They're doing a sale on the Mk III's now.

They were clearing out their old range rentals. I heard about it late night Saturday and called as soon as they opened Sunday to see if they still had the 4"  Redhawk. The salesman said nope- just about everything got sold yesterday.
