We coexist nicely, but I think we both have enough activity that it would be appropriate to have our own forums

I think we are ready for our own forum. I will add that it is kind of entertaining to read some of the gun stuff that goes on in one of the most liberal states.

I don't really see enough posting to make them seperate. Plus I enjoy reading from folks that, inall honesty, I would not read it it were seperate. Just my 0.02

We here in the Great State of Alaska like our brothers from the Great State of Hawaii.  It is okay with me that we keep them/or they keep us.

That and it reminds me to keep the pressure on my reps to make sure I never have such shitty gun laws .

I like being together.  My dream is to one day have a house in both locations.  Most of my guns will be in Alaska though.  Cool to read the Alaska threads too.

It will be very quiet if only by ourselves.

I agree with suka. We have a lot in common. It would be nice if both states could get a better deal on shipping from the 48 states. Suka thanks for your help. I finally shot my flat build ak.

My one complaint regarding making us separate would be that we wont be at the top anymore, and will have to scrool down the list of states to find hawaii.

SD,
The City and County of Honolulu or otherwise know as the  Island of "O'ahu" , is more of a Large Metro type City, with areas and district within the entire Island.
ie:  Pearl Harbour is an entire District near and around the Navel Base, just across the street is know as Salt Lake or Aiea.

Hawaii Kai or Mililani were Development Project in the Suburbs and evolved into its own small Town on the Island of Oahu.

Within the Honolulu Downtown area , also has its own district names > MAKIKI is a distict within Honolulu.     ie : Queens or Bronx is part of NYC., Hollywood is within Metro LAX.

I was just going through the HI check-in page and could not tell what was a city, Island, area, or what.  If you look at the AK member page you will see what I was shooting for.  Simple really, but not knowing HI very well left me wondering how to write it down is all...  My GF is from HI and even she did not recognize some of it.

Compared to the area of AK, HI is a dot.  The island of Oahu, home to 1 million people, is not even 30 miles across.  Most of us are on Oahu, so separating our island in to smaller sections wouldn't make much sense, IMO.  Classifying us by island might make sense, but some islands have no members.
