You know how it is, you've got loads of 'real' work to do, but still manage to find time to do the completely unimportant jobs..... unimportant job finished today after lots of paint and masking tape!

Nicely done!

Good to see it's the right way up, too - Imagine the agony if you realised you'd done it upside down

Yes, I thought about that bit! It's only when you start to draw one you realise how tricky it is!!

Libyas flag would have been easier, but Moldova's looks like it would have been tricky with the masking tape!!

Have you laquered it?  What sort of paint did you use?  I have a wooden stock that is crying out to be chopped and painted....

It's actually an old wallnut Ruger 10/22 stock, so I am basically going to radically crop out the underside of the forend, kind of like the Blaser....

Then go for a none conformist colour that would make Wharhol puke.....

To late, I have been very bussy this morning since heving read this thread and my attitude was you can only break it and then you can buy a Hogue stock for it. I'll post pic's in the near future, as I have to go to work, and it still aint finished yet. I also took a chunk out of my stock like the druganov's have.

A good finish I have found for gun stocks is flecktarn paint.

Gives a kind of mottled tri-colour pebbledashed look and looks brill :)

Can't see it too great in this pic, but it looks great in the flesh :)

Finished, my stock and just put everything back together again. I'm off hunting now, so you will have to wait for the pic's.

Mines still a work in progress.  I made the first cut .... .... Now getting bored of sanding..... My stock was solid, and the devil is taking some elbow grease..... Trying to scrounge up a small orbital sander to make things easier....

Sounds like a valid excuse to buy a new tool. I often use DIY projects to justify the purchase of a new tool (yes I am a gadget freak and I'm not ashamed). Got a Dremel not long ago. The havoc you can wreak with one of these is impressive..

Sorry, but you'll all have to wait just a little longer for the pic's.

I was just at the range with it and I'll be taking it again and again and again. I only took a box of 50rnds and once zeroed it was doing thumbnail group's at 50 meter's, so I scrounged a new tgt from the range officer to do a pic for the web, then thing's went wrong with the last 5 rnds.

All of my German mate's (good lad's, rather fib to yer face before they upset ya), said that they liked it and that I should now buy some plastic wood and build the pistol grip up and forward (you know what I mean).

Pic's are on the way, latest on Saturday, or maybe Sunday, did I go firm which week of the year or even what year.

This is the look I am going for..... Belongs to a mate from our local club....

I just got back from B & Q with yet more sand paper...... Almost bought an orbital sander, but that would have been silly..... Wouldn't it?
