As if we didn't have enough other shit going on with summer block leave starting on Friday... now we'll be PMCSing the Dog and Pony all fucking week just to sit around and listen to the __________ yammer on mindlessly about how we're going to GTFO of Afghanistan and basically stand there and waste our fucking time.  (fill in the blank, I would be violating UCMJ if I put what I really wanted in there)

Personally, I'll be staying as far the fuck away from the base as possible... looks like a good day to run to PA and pick up some last minute "supplies" for July 4th weekend.    Good thing I'm "clearing" for my PCS to a free(er) state.  

And the local McD's outside the gate is one of the worst I've been too, and I love me some Big Macs too.

They might make the worst food outside the gate but Arsenal St. F's up the most orders.

Too bad TN is too far away:  We stopped at a chain fireworks store on the way to Alabama: damn near everything was "buy one-get one free" and at check out they offered a membership/rewards card (nothing more than a sign up for their mailing list) which was good for something like 20% off, and when I pulled out my wallet you could see the CAC card: the clerk asked if that was a Military ID, I said it was and he gave another 20%, so we bought damn near $200. worth of GOOD STUFF for ~$70.  

Off topic but very interesting.

I had a job interview with a Secret Service Agent scheduled for Thursday the 23rd in Syracuse.

He called me on Monday to reschedule.  

Now I know why. Said he had something come up.

Speaking of SS... was in B Dubs in Watertown for lunch today and there were two distinct groups of individuals in there trying to be all "covert".  Yeah... six dudes sitting in the bar, not drinking, all wearing 5.11 pants and various polos untucked, all with gov't issue blackberries and watches, and half of them printing like all get out.  I "bumped" into one in the mens room and mentioned that his sidearm was showing and they were made the second they walked in.  Gave me the then  then .  Much fail.  I'm sure they are in town as advance party for the "visit" tomorrow... but jesus christ on a fucking unicycle... if you're going to be that blatant, just stick to dark suits and earpieces.

Chuckling at your revealing of the not so secret service.  5.11 pants?  Too funny, I call them range pants.  I call that the technically complying with policy for handgun concealment but epic  fail in effort to do so to the effect intended in the policy.  Summer is a beyotch for plainclothes concealment.   Options are to wear odd conspicuously hot clothing or get a really good concealment holster and or downsize your pistol.   In my line of work sometimes I can getaway with a fishing vest but that one's only good for streamside.
