My beautiful Henderson is seeing the bulk of the first wave. I went into In 'n' Out on Sunset and Marks yesterday, and as I was walking in, I saw this asshat with dreadlocks and a tie-dye shirt walking in too... I brushed it off as the occasional miscreant until I actually got inside. It was then that I realized he had an entire VW Busload of them inside with him....

I quickly retreated and went to Wendy's, where I drove through the parking lot and didn't see any Subaru's or "Save our Environment" stickers, so decided to go inside. One followed me in! He had a "Boyz II Men" tee shirt and some of those multi colored parachute pants that the body builders used to wear in the 80's tucked into his socks... weirdo

I WAS gonna chastise ya for that Subaru crack; kinda like 'em. Then I remembered my sister's FAVORITE car was her "ru", and she's as NYCLiberal as they come...... so, maybe ya got somethin' there. Though I do enjoy (usually) that IN'N OUT; seen all kinds there.

there was a big concert deal at Sam Boyd this weekend , think it was called Vagoose or something. Something like 35 different bands playing . Brought out all kinds of people.

Haha I was there at Wendy's at the same time as you then.  No I was not wearing the Boys II Men shirt, but I did notice that guy with his friends in there.  Were you sitting in the back corner by yourself?  Just guessing from who I can remember inside at the time.

Sounds kinda like what happens to Reno and Carson during Burning Man.

Vegoose, Burning Man, Junefest and a few other events are a big draw for some of the "alternative" crowd.

i remember i was coming back from visiting the folks in Kali one year, and there were a bunch of VW bugs and busses either broken down or poking along on the grades on 15 coming into town... the Grateful Dead were in town and the Deadheads were migrating.

sheeit! I forgot about Junefest! I always wanted to go to one, but never got a chance...
