Yep, just agreed to purchase a Polytech Legend overfolder AK47 NIB. The guys on the AK board helped me out and told me that I'd be a fool not to buy it. I got a pretty good deal on it and I cant wait to take delivery and show it off.
Mrs. gilfrd is lookin at me funny now, she is none too pleased!!

Dixie Firearms up by Buford is running Silver Bear 7.62x39 for about 109.99 per case.  Granted it's a little more expensive than wolf or barnaul, but it's a cleaner ammo to shoot.

Where is Dixie?  It would be nice to know of a shop closer to me for those immediate must-haves...

Hopefully I will have it for the Aug. 9th shoot at the FOP range in B'ham, everybody gets a turn!
I've got to drive up to N.Ga to get it, maybe I'll have time this weekend. I'll get some pics up just as soon as I can.

I cant wait to break her in, she is  virgin you know so I'll have to be gentle.

To get to Dixie Firearms take exit 4 off of 985 and head past Mall of GA.  I think it's the second light after you pass under 85 make a left, and follow that road about 2 miles and you will come up on Braselton Highway.  There will be a Shell and a small strip mall accross the street, and Dixie is in that small mall.

I was thinking about going the Wolf route but I really dont like that ammonia smell at all. I do think I'm going to go with that fancy Silver Bear or something similar. Too bad 7.62 is so cheap, I've got all my reloading stuff and it just isn't cost effective to reload 7.62 if I can get it for $100/1000ea.
Oh well, at least I have 4000 5.56 on hand... just in case :)

good point!!!

Y'all are welcome to come over and load up your own brass. Just bring powder, bullets and primers, I've got everything else. It'll take a while to trim and clean but after that it is smoooth sailing.

Only one at a time, it's a one man job, unless one trims and the other loads. Maybe I should start selling ammo? $100 for 1000 would be the break even price, ymmv

Gilfrd:
I do quite a bit of pistol reloading, but rifle reloading for me just hasn't saved me nearly as much money. Granted, I don't load Match ammo, but I can't even come close to being cost-effective in 7.62X39. .308 comes in a little closer, but it's still a losing proposition when you look at surplus ammo [I looked into it and would be coming out several cents/rd behind, not to mention buying dies].
.223, however, is a different story. I can save some money there.
To some people, that means actually SAVING money. To reloaders, it means converting saved money into more ammo.

P.S.: This started as an AK thread, right?

Yeah it did start as an AK thread but it looks like I hijacked my own thread.
I seriously doubt I'll be reloading for the AK, at less than .10 cents each retail it just doesn't seem prudent.

Last night I loaded up 100 more .223 rounds with 26 grains of Varget and a 55 grain BTFMJ bullet on top, total round weight of 177.5 grains.

I love my reloader!

hell with the silver bear .223 (I'm gonna try some out)  you may want to quit reloading all together.  It runs about the same as 7.62x39
