What a day. I fell down the stairs this morning. Managed to keep my feet from getting twisted up underneath me which prevented any fractures but it appears I have sprained my knee, ankle, and several toes. I would have been alright, but the baby gate at the bottom was locked and I managed to put my foot through it. Gate held though. It's more than a little bent but still on its hinges. I can't put any weight on my foot now. The other foot is also bruising up nicely. I'll be hobbling for awhile it looks like.

I did that once but my feet came out and after sailing over 6 or 7 steps I landed ass first and broke my tailbone.  Man, that shit hurt.  And let me go ahead and tell you, it is not fun trying to take a dump with a broken tailbone.

Man that sucks Doug.  Take it easy now; the days not over.  Make sure to ice and elevate.

I'm thankful it is not any worse. I was originally terrified of a broken leg but that tailbone thing sounds much worse...

You do know I don't sue people...

I stopped telling lawyer jokes a long time ago. The lawyers don't find them funny and no one else realizes they are jokes...

Glad your OK Doug, seen a few people piled up on the bottom of the steps DRT and consider yourself lucky.

I tripped about a month ago, the Lab left a ball laying on the third step down and I hit it and recovered about 3 steps from the bottom, burnt my hand and elbow as they slid along the rail and wall trying to stop. The whole thing would have won big money on Funniest Home Videos but in my eyes it was one of those O-Shit moments.

Here's to ya getting back up to speed soon.

What Doug didn't tell you was that he tried to concealed carry a mini-gun in a leather holster and the weight threw him off balance and down the stairs.

Seriously though, I hope you feel better soon and that nothing is broken.

If anything was broken I'd be in screaming pain, my wife is a nurse so I'm in good hands.

Silly Lawyer.......you're supposed to rough up the plaintiff to garnish sympathy.

Glad your kid wasn't in the way.

This actually makes you sound cooler in my book...I just think it's a funny occurrence, young people falling downstairs.

You weren't hurt seriously so it's all laughs.

I now know your weakness

Hope you feel better and I'm glad its not any worse.  There's a guy on the forum here who screwed his back up tripping over his cat and going down the stairs.   I'll let him tell the story if he wants. :)

Glad you're OK.  I've fallen down the stairs several times and thankfully never hurt worse than scrapes and bruises.

And let me add, no matter how fun it may seem at the time, do not try to ride in the laundry basket down the stairs.  After a couple of flips my foot went thru the sheetrock next to our front door.  While the kids thought it was hilarious, my wife was not amused.

Doug, you need a better doctor, sounds like a bad strain/sprain, the discoloration is not the best thing. Call Dr Allen in Woodstock (podiatrist)  She is the best. Been to her numerous times with broken toes, surgery.

I've had two nurses look at it already. It's probably a hairline fracture, everything is pointed the right way and it will eventually heal. I don't take prescription narcotics on principle so I'm doing all I can, I promise. They aren't going to put a toe in a cast and the foot itself other then tenderness is not impaired.

Now I just need a rainbow Ti Sig to match it!
