At first I was feeling pretty good. I got a new desktop so i could look down upon the earth:

Then I went looking for NASA solar system photos and came across a pretty decent size representation:

Then the earth started looking smaller:

Compared to the sun the earth is tiny:

Smaller and smaller the earth got until even the sun itself was getting smaller:

In the end even the sun was tiny compared to other stars in the universe:

I still like my new desktop though

Wow.  It's all about perspective, isn't it?

Pale Blue Dot

That's a picture taken from Voyager 1, taken 3.7 billion miles away from the planet.

I linked to the Wikipedia article instead of just the picture so that you can read the background....its an incredible picture.

So Mark, why can't YOU take pics like that?

You give me a few hundred billion dollars and I will find a way.  Of course with Canon gear you would actually be able to see the ORHTF shoot going on...
