I've finished a build or two and really want to sight them in!
 Which North Eastern Illinois range are open? I guess Buffalo is open only on weekends.... efxguy |

Buffalo opens for good on March 31st, or so I've heard. Don't know of anything else outdoors until then. You could always sight-in indoors.

Gunworld over on Irving Park Rd. near O'hare is open. Its only a 25yard range and you can't use steel core ammo, but it will do the trick until the outdoor ranges are open.

So the ARs are OK there? What is good ammo that they allow? All my stuff (but for the match king ammo) is SS109. efxguy |

I like steaks, I have close to ten tons though. 1/2 west of the spoon river, between 74 and 150. Oh , my steaks still move on thier own. |

AR's are definitely ok at GunWorld. I can't say on the ammo. All I know is they check it with a magnet. I've only shot M193 there. |

Anything that sticks to a magnet is a no go at gun world, even if only slightly. They wouldn't let me shoot Port 7.62 there.

M193 is good to go, lead core. M855 is a steel core, which is a no go at Gunworld. Steel ammo tears the hell out of indoor backstops. |

Strange....last time I was there I shot wolf ammo there....as a matter of fact so did a number of other folks as well...

+1. Last time I was there I shot Wolf out of my AR and my dad shot Wolf out of his WASR. I accidently slapped a mag of M855 into the AR when I was there once. It sparks like crazy when the round hits the backstop. |
