Hello,

Finally sorting out my email has allowed me to join!

I don't own an AR15, sorry.

I do have an AUG though, but really want a Mossberg MVP.

I'll keep stupid questions to the minimum, I hope.

Do you shoot in any competitions? If you're looking to do CSR then the AUG may be an advantage over a bolt action MVP.

We'd love to see you and your Steyr at Bisley...

Not yet, only got my ticket last year.
The AUG is a bit awkward fro a bipod mount, I get on alright with it at ranges up to 300, but beyond that the eronomics don't seem to suit me.
The MVP seems like a good idea for PR.

Bisley is far from me I live in England's rain capital. Diggle is only 20 miles away though.

Thanks, It's a 3-9x42 Burris Fullfield II.
I bought it because I know nothing about optics

All my military shooting was done with iron sights.

I've just bought an AUG (more because I can than anything else - I've also got an AR) and I've got a Vortex Viper on which will be mounted in a Burris PEPR mount (when it arrives from the States)

What do you find are the limitations of this scope then?

If we were prohibited from owning ARs in this country and someone was desperate to use AR magazines in their rifle, then yes, this could possibly be useful. However, we can own ARs, so what's the point?

BDC reticle is good for hunting but a bit wide for target shooting.

What's living up North got to do with bipods?
The club I shoot with sometimes insists on bipods at MOD ranges.

Here in the South the real men don't need bipods.

Perhaps you Northern types Actually can't handle Shandy

Welcome.

If you want a big, heavy-barrelled .223 Rem bolt-action that takes AR magazines, this would be the way to go. That one isn't cheap, but the Mossberg isn't likely to be reasonably priced, either. The Mossberg wouldn't compare to the speed that could cycle at.

No, it won't be the way to go for CSR - too heavy with that barrel on.
