I want to get back into cars and fixing them up, working on them etc. I'm thinking a classic car is the way to go. Hotpink's dad has a 1200HP 69 NOVA which is cherry and it has been making me want to get into that style of car.

I want to find a 62 Impala 2 dr Convertable. If any one knows of one out there let me know.

While not convertables......Affordable Classics down the street from me has two SS's for sale, a '63 and a '64..........

Yea, I want it to be exactly what I want.

Engine doesn't matter as I'll be putting in a new one. But 2 Door and Convertible and 1962 is a must.

I've had a 1964 IMP before.....

Honestly, for a nice drivalble convertible, you're gonna be looking between 20 and 30K.

You can find them cheaper, but you'd probably spend mor on them to finish it how you want/and or repair what's fuggered up.

Hemmings, classic car trader, specialty auto finder, etc. Grab them all and watch. Also check autotrader and Little Nickel. I remember there being a bunch of 62's in the auto trader but none of them were convertibles. I think there was one 2 dr.

In your searches, when you come across a '68 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed sitting in a barn where a little old lady left it parked after her grandson died, pick it up for me.

There's a really nice hardtop for $8000 local in the trader. I'm going to be repainting it and redoing the interior, new engine, wheels, suspension, so a little dirty is ok. Body just needs to be straight. It will be one of a kind....a cross between old school and modern.

I've got a 77 Bronco sport, 4" suspension lift, Dana 44 up front, disc brakes all the way around, super plush interior, rust free, 33" tires on alum wheels, built C4 auto with a 69 block 302 with 10.5:1 TRW pistons in it if ya want it,

The top does come off, so it is technically a convertable, oh and the body style is the same as a 66 so it's close to what you want, right?

Oh wait, it's not a CAR now is it, damn.

Yes hardtops are around....but you said convertible.....whole other playing field....

Be a man and start your midlife crisis early by getting a muscle car. GTO (my personal fave), Camaro SS, Olds 442, Firebird, Chevelle, etc... Sensing a trend here? I guess you could go MOPAR, but everyone knows MOPAR sucks!

So excited for the Impala, WS4LIF is not going to just teach me about guns but we are going to build the car up togther and he is going to teach me about engines and other stuff in the process. Should be a lot of fun. Thanks for helping us and connecting us with your connections.

Have you checked some of the online resources? When I was looking for my suburban [I wanted something very specific] I went online and found mine. It was perfect and the price was so excellent I didn't even bicker with the guy.

I would like a 60-72 Scamp. Laugh if you must but my first car was a 72 Scamp and I loved that car. We have a 67 Camero that's pretty cool. I'm not allowed to do much more than sit in it and only that under controlled breathing exercises.

I'm a die-hard Chevy muscle car guy, but 66-77 Broncos *are* cool. 76-77 are about the best. I had a '68 and though I liked it, it sucked. Non-power steering and brakes is for the birds. I will probably get a Jeep Wrangler this summer and go all out on it with a long-arm lift, 35-37" tires, etc. Another old Bronco would be nice but technology rules and Jeeps are a dime a dozen.
