Dear ISRA members:
Our lobbyists head back to Springfield this week for what was expected to be an abbreviated spring legislative session. Chicago's Mayor Daley came out of his corner a little early last week, taking some wild swings at the air with his yearly call for gun control for all of Illinois as the solution to crime in his corner of the world. ISRA has put him on notice with the press release included below.
The problems with delays issuing new and renewed FOID cards continue, with members reporting delays of up to 90 days. State law states this must occur within 30 days. This past weekend there was coverage of the issue in regional newspapers, like the one carried in The Southern Illinoisan on Sunday. ISRA issued a press release yesterday, included below, calling for an investigation into the situation.
Email alerts will be sent out as needed during the spring legislative session. Check the ISRA website daily for other updates from our lobbyists.

Chicago Mayor Daley Leads Democrats on Election Year Suicide Attack Against Illinois Hunters and Sportsmen
This year will be a great year to make it to ISRA Lobby day.
I'll keep an eye out for the date. It will be worth a drive Springfield to realy show support.
The push from now on seems to be to make elected officials accountable to the Pro second ammendment voters for all there actions in 2nd ammendmdnet related votes. WE have to let them know we are watching and that we will hold it against them. Keep that in mind when writing you reps this year.

It would be a good show of force to really turn out the pro 2nd amendment people. Maybe we could put an end to this yearly ritual of Daley's. If he knows for sure it won't go anywhere he will try. But if he knows he will only be embarassed he'll spend more time finding new ways to steal from the taxpayers. I can try and make it.
