DAVE KOPEL TO SPEAK AT UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO GUN ISSUES FORUM

Dave Kopel, a good friend of the law-abiding gun owner and a fellow at the Independence Institute will be delivering a pro-gun lecture at the University of Chicago Law School on Monday, October 27, 2003.  The lecture will take place at 6:15 PM in Room V, University of Chicago Law School, 1111 East 60th Street, Chicago.  We urge all gun rights supporters to be there...Dave will be in hostile territory.


SIGLER TO KEYNOTE ISRA FREEDOM RALLY

NRA 2nd Vice President John C. Sigler has been named as the keynote speaker for the ISRA's Liberty Rally.  The rally and banquet will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Diplomat West Banquet Hall, Elmhurst, IL.  The event will include a networking hour, dinner, a huge gun raffle and Captain Sigler's address.  Go to the ISRA web site at http://www.isra.org for further information.  This is one event you don't want to miss!

COOK COUNTY/CHICAGO GETS THE ITCH TO SUE AGAIN

The October 15th edition of the "Back of the Yards Journal" reports that Cook County has filed suit against a number of out of state marketers of martial arts gear.  Cook County State's Attorney Dick Devine, who recently dodged death in the Cook County Building Inferno, wants, among other things, $50,000 in "damages" from each of the marketers.

DANVILLE HOUSING AUTHORITY SEEKS TO BAN OWNERSHIP OF FIREARMS BY TENANTS

The Danville Housing Authority is seeking to place a ban on firearm ownership by its tenants.  The Authority's Executive Director, Richard Unz, was reported in the September 19th edition of the Danville Commercial News as saying that the proposed ban "...does not interfere with citizens' 2nd Amendment rights."  We wonder how he came to that conclusion?  It seems to suggest that, once one becomes a beneficiary of public housing programs, he/she is no longer a citizen!?
