As early as this Friday, the Illinois House of Representatives will try to
resurrect Senate Bill 947.  Senate Bill 947, if passed, will impose an
additional tax on law abiding gun owners by allowing the State Police to
charge a fee to individuals who contact the instant background system.
This would do nothing to prevent violent crime, but instead punish and
restrict law abiding gun owners.  In this case, the power to tax will
clearly be the power to destroy.

The vote on SB 947 will be very close, so it is more important than ever
that you please call the Representatives listed below and respectfully let
them know that as a law abiding gun owner, you would like them to vote
"NO" on SB 947 as amended. These Representatives could be the difference
between an unnecessary tax and a victory for all Illinois law-abiding gun
owners and sportsmen.

The anti-gun forces in the Illinois Senate are attempting to undermine
your Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms.  The Senate Health and
Human Services Committee passed an amendment to House Bill 2579 that would
limit law abiding gun owners to purchase only one gun a month.  The bill
is expected to reach the floor and be voted on by the end of this week.

The vote on HB 2579 is extremely important, so we urge you to call the
Senators listed below  and respectfully let them know that as a law
abiding gun owner, you would like them to vote "NO" on HB 2579.  Please
