So I've heard complaints about Carters and ASC. Carters is the closest range to my house that I know of and its still 30 minutes away. I'm off 2920. Question is, is there a place in Conroe/woodlands area that you guys like or may be closer to me? I've been going to Carters for years because the other places are even further.

There's supposed to be a good indoor range in Humble on 1960 somewhere, as well as some decent outdoor range in Conroe IIRC

hot wells shooting range is by 290 and barker cypress, theyre outdoors.
Then theres sportsmans supply and thats in humble off of 59 and 1960, theyre indoor and charge by the hour ($12.00 i think)
then theres gun emporium in south conroe. I forget the name of the road they're on, but i shoot there all the time and its by far the best range that you're going to find around here.

There are two ranges in Conroe.

Shooters Station indoor 25yrd range for handguns only (2000fps limit). On HWY 105. $12 per hour with your own ammo or $12 all day with range ammo. Good guys here.

Gun Emporium on 2854 has a 250 yard outdoor range with covered benches. Nice and cheap, like $6 per gun. 25yrd, 50yrd, 100 and 250

I haven't shot there, but Thunder Range is an outdoor range near conroe. On 1314 just south of 242. If anyone has shot there give us a report.

Thunder is a bit of Sh*t hole, but not really bad. Last time I was there they had no cover at the benches.

I now live near Hot wells and go there often as they are very Police friendly.

ASC is anal about safety.

I just moved into the area near the medical center and looked up a few places. I actually stopped by Top Gun indoor shooting center yesterday to see what it was like. It seems very nice, clean, and roomy. They charge 15 per hour and 13 something if you use their ammo. The only downside is you have to use thier fragmentable ammo when shooting an AR and you can't use the cheap aluminum or steel cased ammo. I'll probably try it out next weekend. It's located on Beveryly Hills street which is just off the chimney rock exit from hwy 59.

Same here. I know Rangemasters club is 59@1960 and they shoot on thursdays I believe. I plan on going to the indoor range tonight. I think there open untill 9pm

i go to topgun and its actually a pretty nice indoor range, the people have never given me any problems and i hit up walmart before i go to get som wwb for my 9 and 40. they usually tell me that they have to charge me by the hour since i come with a case but never do.

i go there usually during the summer cause it gets blistering hot outside or when its raining and take my 9mm ar with me. they allow rapid firing so its uber fun with the 9 ar.

Sportsmans outlet is right off 59 on the east side just down 1960 on the right hand side.

Thunder ranch is in conroe up 2920, I went there last weekend, it wasn't too bad. Not as nice as Carters but okay.

Top Gun is waaaaaayyyy to rich for my blood. I'd rather take a further drive up 59 or 290 then to pay for those prices. Their ammo is a total rip off.
