HOUSTON -- A clerk was gunned down inside a northeast Harris County gun store Thursday, sheriff's deputies told Local 2. Two customers found James Cornelius, 32, behind the counter of the Southern Firearms Store on Bear Bayou and Pecan shortly before 4 p.m. investigators said. "We don't know if there was any money taken. There's a cash register there that's open and there's nothing inside. That appears to be possibly the motive at this time," Harris County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bruce Williams said. Cornelius was the gun store owner's son. Police have not named any suspects in Cornelius' killing.
