Hey guys, looking for somewhere in the Houston area to maybe run a few courses, concealed draw, and get a little more training than the requirements for CCP. This would include mental just as much as physical. Anyone have any clue as to where I could find that without spending a lot of $$? Thanks.

I really like the tactical classes that are run at Hot Wells shooting range, and at $50 each, they are a bargain in my opinion. I've been through all 3 and I hope I get a chance to head back for more.

I just shot at Hot Wells a week or so ago. Can you tell me any details about them? What is contained in the classes? Who teaches those classes? Gotta web link?

I have taken classes from both the below and both are excellent:

www.mastsolutions.com

www.hoffners.com/

In fact, MAST Solutions has an advanced pistol class April 28/29 that I am attending.

Well, the classes are usually pretty small, less than 5 or 6 people per session and if I remember correctly last about 2 hours. The instructors are some nice guys, I trained with Donovan. He's a young guy, but he knows his stuff and had trained extensively with the Jersey Village police. Like I said, I've done three sessions with them and had a blast every time.

i don't mean to be rude but what can you learn in two hours?

Certainly its not comprehensive. But I found it to be a very valuable course. I also think you need to take all 3 courses to really learn much. Anyways, I felt it increased my skills. I think another thing it teaches is a good way to train on your own.

Awesome, I'm going to have to look into these. Right now I need to decide on a P226 in .40 or a 229

MAST SOLUTIONS hands down for me!!! I have gone thru their level I pistol snd Level I carbine. Both 2 day classes and both well worth every penny.

Level II pistol is this weekend at ASC. Both days, Saturday is 12 hours. If you want a taste, come out and watch. I am sure they wont mind, just tell them what you are doing.
