I'll never say it's impossible, but meteorologists can't predict the weather worth a damn just a few days out, yet we're supposed to believe them when they predict something 10 years from now?  I checked the weather for my area on Wednesday to get the 5 day forecast...it said sunny for the next 5 days.  Well last night it rained...they couldn't even get it right for 2 days out.

I agree that it is extremely hard to predict the weather, and even harder to make long term climate forecasts. But it doesn't stop the farmers almanac from trying, nor should it, and the same goes for climatologists. Its always a good idea to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best in my opinion.

Every dry spell for the past 20 years has been said to be a repeat of the 1950's drought.

Just drama, they have no clue if it will be or not.

You can't reliably predict the weather, but the climatological information we've got from the 1950's shows us what mother nature can do if she wants.

So yeah, it can happen, we don't know for certain that it will happen.

It might start raining next week and not stop until May.

We've sold around 60 cows. Trying to hang on to the 30 we have left.
I'm selling some of my goats next week.
Our stock tanks have dried up and I lost all the fish that were in them.

We need rain .
