I have been to 3 pro America rallies in the past week alone.  Two outside of John Cornyn's office and a 3rd at the University of Houston.  A 4th actually I did up 45 just north of Houston.

Not a single mention of any of these rallies in any media forum that I have seen.  Of course, the Houston Chronicle gave front page coverage, I think, today on how some students at one school in Houston marched out of class in support of legalizing the illegals.  Alas.

You gotta be controversial!  Go burn some Mexican Flags.... after you call the news and say "hey, a big flag-burning protest over the immigration issue is going to take place at (time/place)."  I got that idea from  Michael Savage.

On a slightly tangent note..... I think we should protest against city ordninces banning "discharge of a firearm in city limits"..... as long as nobody is hurt (there are laws against that) and no property is damaged (there are remedies in civil court), why should it be illegal.... we are being over-run by fucking Grackles.... and I'm thinking a few blasts w/ No.9 into the trees will reduce the health hazards of "bird shit rain".   (Has anyone been thru Beltline and Dallas North Tollway intersection?)

Two days now of Mexicans adults (and kids kipping school) running around yelling Viva Mexico and waving Mexican flags like they just conquered territory. Link up with any DFW news site for video. I am all for immigrants who come here and want to be Americans, but it appear these folks just want to annex America.

the first 16 min of ch. 13 11am newscast was about the kids walking out of school. the more the press covers this the more they will do it. so many of the kids are 1st generation americans because their parents came to the county illegally. we have to lock down the borders and send all illegals back. they broke the law getting here while so many do it the legal way. i do not have a problem with work permits. i just want our government to know who all is coming into our country. what the hell is wrong with that?

I can't speak for myself though, I'm from the family of an illegal immigrant (sweedish).  Jumped ship in 1910 I've been told and started my mother's family here in Houston/Galveston the Eckmans.  

but I can tell you one thing, neither myself, my mother or her father can speak a word of sweedish. and we don't plan to.  I guess that's the difference.

My wife is from a LEGAL immigrant family from mexico that came about 30 years ago and has lived up north most of her life.  She learned more spanish coming here working and being forced by other hispanics to only talk back in spanish than she did where she grew up.

Most kids are apathetic, have no idea or interest in politics and how it affects them or their families.  At least these kids will lift a finger to help themselves.  The amount of apathy among most high school and college students is apalling to me.  Try asking most kids who is the Vice President or to name the three branches of governement.  You will be surprised at the answers you get.

If they want to protest, then so be it.  Most kids ( and adults) could give a shit less about anything as long as they have their McDonalds and Cable TV.

Crazy little bastards marched right past UHD today....held up traffic for damn near ever....made me late for class.  Some were shouting obscenities at the "white" motorists they were making late for work....good way to not get deported (sarcasm)

I am for immigration but do legally. and I know it is a long process. (my family did it)

One of the arguements is that they are all just guest workers. Unfortunately the majority pop. in the federal prisons are Hispanic. But yes most of them just want jobs

I don't think that they are doing jobs Americans won't do, but are driving down the wages of entry level jobs so that only immigrants can afford to get them.

They put a Strain on the Welfare system, Hospitals, and the Public School System.

Mostly the problem seems to be our laws, and for one we do not enforce them.

Border Control is another problem.

Some of them may well be protesting but the majority probably saw this as a day to skip school.  They were trolling around arlington today too, almost made me late to class.  No idea where they were going either, but the police were escorting them.  Funny thing was I saw many "stragglers" walking away who probably got tired of the walk and decided protesting wasn't cool anymore.

The only problem I saw was when the school districts sent buses and offered them rides back to school. They should have got them all loaded up then headed due south and dumped their ass at the border. If they love their country so much go live there.

Some of the more intelligent ones were protesting the illegal=felon nonsense that has come up lately. The kids were born here and are US citizens, Mom and Dad however are illegal. They were unhappy about busting up the families if the illegals are sent back. They have a point within reason on that one.

Close the borders, refine how you become a naturalized citizen including learning to speak English, then give them 12 to 18 months to go through the process. Then if you get caught, back you go, no excuse.

Every kid that skipped school needs to go to ISS or detention for the rest of the week and given a zero in all classes for work missed for the day.

Why is that reasonable?

The fact that they had kids here made the kids "anchor babies."  The fact that they haven't come forward and tried to become legal says to me that they intend, even through negligence, to do the right thing.

If a mother and or father is a murderer, a rapist, or a felon and just haven't been caught yet, does that make them any more noble than the murderer, rapist, or felon who doesn't have kids?

Bringing this entire situation back into the realm of firearms and such.. one of my concerns, after seeing, reading, hearing and protesting (I've done 4 pro US / anti illegal rallies this past week - and am starting to enjoy being called the names .. tho my favorite was some white guy in a 500 series BMW calling ME a "selfish biggot"))... if the Congress should grant 15+ million (whatever the number) of illegals a path to legal status, does that mean they can then purchase firearms legally?
