I was thinking of coming down to Houston this weekend for this show. Is it worth a 3 hour drive from near Austin?

I'm an Austinite that happens to be in Houston so I'll be there. It's not as big as the HGCA show at the old AstroHall but it still beats the Austin Saxet show... Actually most anything beats the Austin Saxet show

Yes. The Austin Saxet show does suck. It's mostly beef jerky, and jewelry. Not to mention that most of the time they are WAY too proud of their guns. Every once in a while you will find a good deal, but it's not often.

You're funny.. Numrich doesn't have that forestock...I checked. If you don't find it at GRB, I can point you to a guy at The Real Gun Show 1/6 and 1/7 who is a very likely candidate. So, confusin me and Robbie ain't new...the day after the last Pasa-get down-dena show I answer my shop phone... Guy says "Hey, I bought some parts from you at the Gun show in Pasadena, need some more" I say "Sure, what are you looking for?" He says "Well I bought all these 1911 parts and I need some more " I said "Dude...you're confusing me with Robbie..." He says "I got your card..I know it's you" I had to convince him I wasn't Robbie. Then I said "I've got grey hair a moustache and wear glasses"..then it dawned on my that I just described Robbie. So I finally give him Robbie's number....Hope he bought something from you Robbie! See y'all Saturday!! |

The GRB shows are normally pretty good.
I don't want to be negative but, I hope they (meaning the city or whoever runs the convention center) does something with the parking situation. |

There are some lots around the GRB that you can park in for maybe $8. |

If you get there early enough (and if you don't mind a short walk), you can park on some of the streets by Minute Maid Park on the cheap!!!
 ..of course, there may be dog shows, house and garden shows, cheerleading clinics, Bahai temple meetings, etc, etc, happening as well...
