I worked it yesterday & walked it only briefly. AR's are still $2K & up. SKS' are $699 or so. Didn't price any AK's.
I didn't price any ammo as I don't really need any right now & refuse to pay for overpriced stuff.
Handgun prices are holding steady, even semi's. They are selling like free beer though (mixing metaphors there, so sue me).
I think what
might be some good deals are things that 99% of buyers are overlooking: used scopes, holsters, used revolvers, rimfires, etc.
There was two guys who got arrested yesterday. One had a warrant on him, not sure of the details. The other had a hidden camera on his lapel/collar & was thrown out. He came in again via a 2nd entrance & was thrown out AGAIN & GD if he didn't come back in a third time. After that he got a free ride with some nice new wrist jewellery with the Sumner Co. sheriff's dept. He was asking some REAL dumb/leading questions with the reloading guy about "which powders make the best explosives?", etc.
Parking was a NIGHTMARE! Not a single slot to be found ANYWHERE. Folks parked on the grass & the bowling alley bitch was stopping cars & bitching about how THEIR lot (non-marked, mind you) was NOT for gun show attendees. She was waving her cigarette around when she tried to flag me down (despite me not even trying to park there) just to pre-emptive bitch. I totally ignored her & drove on.
Fire marshall was there to keep an eye on the crowd size. It never really got overcrowded as there's LOTS of room between the aisles but they did make the dealers move their vehicles out of the end of the inside of the expo. Not sure what
that had to do with anything. I guess the FM decided they needed to be a big boy about SOMETHING.
It's a shame the Hendersonville show is normally such a bust of a show. There's free parking, lots of room inside & lots of nice places to eat nearby after the show's over. (Allow me to URGE everyone to make a visit to The Tilted Kilt. You'll thank me later.
