A friend of mine owns a bar and right now its just block inside and out.
I said I would help him do some work on it and I thought it would look good if
we put some barn siding on it or at least wainscot the inside with it. Anyone
know where I can get some free or next to free siding. Looking for something like
10" to 12" wide pieces. We are in the Columbus or Southern Ohio area.

Also thinking about building an outdoor stage. What do you guys think would be good
dimensions for 4-6 piece bands. 15' X 20' ?

If you are looking for old "board and batten" style siding (I think it looks better old than new). Check with old farms with damaged barns. It could be free if you pick and carry.

For the outdoor stage, you will need at least an area of 10x15 or 12x13 or 150sf+/- per band.
You will also have to check with your zoning department on how large you can build.

If you have structural or zoning questions let me know.

There's a couple of recent ads on Craigslist Columbus. One is a guy that'll pay you $300 to dismantle and remove what looks to be a big barn covered in nice old siding.

The other guy has a barn dismantled already but he is selling his siding and beams. Price negotiable.

These are great prices if you can purchase pieces individually.

If you could, send some finished pictures of your friends bar when he's completed.

Thanks guys. I'm going down Friday to talk to him. He has a gold mine but there is a lot of
work that needs to be done. He's going through some tough financial times thats why I'm
trying to help him out. He is talking about selling and if the price is right I may try and buy it.

he would love to have the business.

I drive by that place every day on my way to work. Cool!

A guy I know from High School has played guitar there a few times.

I have never stopped in, but now I may have to.

I used to play out there. What band are you talking about?

The Arfcom world just got very small...

I think the band is called Dapper Dan, the guy I went to HS with is Nick. I see the band advertised on the board out front every now and then when I drive by.

It just got really small. I started that band when I got out of the military.
Nick bought the house I grew up in, in circleville. When we were playing there we were
packing the place with about 200-300 people a night. So your a Logan Elm guy huh.
