Welcome! I'm all the way down near Bedford in Lawrence County (about 75 miles south of Indy).

Be sure to check out the "Member Locator" tacked at the top of the Indiana Forum's main page. It has Hoosier members listed by county. Be sure to post your county so that I may add you to the list. Thanks.

$1400hock.gif That’s way out of my price range!!!  My dad and me are looking for one together but I’m poor and my dad is tight with money.  I know AR15s are expensive, but the most we might want to spend to start out with would be $850.  But thanks for letting me know!

Look into a kit.  You can get a kit from Model One Sales and a stripped Rock River lower at a gun show for under $550.00 total. The Model One kit has a fully assembled upper, the guts for the lower and a buttstock assembly.  Then get the Marine Corps manual, a few basic tools and you're in business. I've built three that way and had no problems with them.

That that sounds like a good deal.  But what is the quality like on their parts?  Do they use the same parts as rock river, bushmaster, or any other makers of quality guns?  I talked to my dad today and we might split the cost on a nice Rock River Elite CAR A4.  They seem like really nice rifles.  Thanks

Here at the local gunshop he has a RRA 20" for $599+tax. He also has a Bushy 16" for $759, I think that's the right price,I'll check tomorrow. Not bad prices, there are cheaper, but it's short drive from MI City.

What's the name of the shop?  Where is it?  Maybe we'll go over and take a look at the RRA rifle.  But I'm leaving on a hunting trip tomorrow morning and won't be back till late Sunday.

I am from the Valpo area.  If you want a range that isn't very busy, head over to Kingsbury Ordnance Plant range.  $4 entry fee, and its one of the nicest ranges that I have been to.  Email me if you need more info.
