WE WIN AGAIN! (ROUND 2)

THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY  PASSED House Bill 248, repealing the state ban on more than10 round magazines, unanimously, without amendments.  It goes to the whole House for a vote and then "crosses" to the Senate.

Mahalo to all those who testified and sent testimony and special mahalo to Rep. Ken Ito who encouraged Chair Waters and the Members to pass the bill.  
 

Meanwhile, the Senate has scheduled their version of the bill, SB702, in Senator Clayton Hee's Judiciary and Labor Committee, Monday at 9am.  Details to follow.

Whats the differance in the SB vs the HB. Cant seem to get the link open to the SB.

Permits owner of a pistol to use any ammunition magazine authorized for use with the pistol by the manufacturer of the pistol. Repeals the prohibition on magazines with a capacity in excess of ten rounds.

capital website said it passed with amendments, but doenst say what they are.


The committees on JUD recommend that the measure be PASSED, WITH AMENDMENTS. The votes were as follows: 9 Ayes: Representative(s) Waters, Green, Ito, Souki, Tsuji, Yamane, Yamashita, Marumoto, Pine; Ayes with reservations: none; 0 Noes: none; and 8 Excused: Representative(s) B. Oshiro, Caldwell, Evans, Luke, McKelvey, Morita, Sonson, Thielen.

Since there's the SB702 already in progress, does HB248 still need to go through the Senate, or is it a simultaneous thing?
