I am getting ready to buy a handgun in Minnesota.  I recently moved back to Minnesota, and have not purchased a handgun here before.  I know I need to get a permit and that the permit is good for one year.

Now, is this permit good for as many handguns as I want throughout that year, or just one?  Also, what does this permit cost?  Thanks, Kory.

Permit to purchase handguns or assault rifles come from your local PD for as many as your pocketbook will allow for.  Your CCW permit works in lieu of that if you have that through your local sheriff.

Also, the cost of the permit to purchase is free. And is mailed direct to you usually in 3-5 business/working days.

It's one of those long-range killing devices that shoots schoolchildren through concrete walls at 3 miles away.
