My checklist was simple-
Glock in belt under shirt, recliner & laptop
Mossberg 590 propped inconspicuously nearby.
I live downtown here in Rome, had 2 kids from my neighborhood, a dozen carloads from da 'hood and south of the border.
Scanner' stays on for hell of it too
Must have sold a lot of eggs in town tonight... lots of "10-10s"

seriously-
What we all were prepared for happened here tonight: Someone pulled an armed robbery up here in the style of trick or treat home invasion, single guy dressed in black with ski mask and "a 9mm", came in the front door, robbed, left through the back door. wasn't my neighborhood, was a so-so area not too far.
In last hour, a few reports of older teens, even adults wandering around knocking on doors and poking around in good neighborhoods. .

I went out with my little ones, my wife, our neighbors and their kid. It was a very good time and I had a lot of fun watching my little ones trick or treating. On a more serious note. I did notice "young" adults, not from our neighborhood, milling about, hanging out with friends, and doing some trick or treating themselves. Everything worked out fine and there were no problems or issues that I've heard of, but you never know.

In case of the "never know", I had the following

Glock 32
ASP baton
Sure-fire light (with excellent choke-out lanyard)
One of my XCQB knives

The light/lanyard were for targets that have difficultly learning.
The baton was for the targets that learn the hard way.
The Glock was for targets that didn't understand the two previous lessons.

We took the munchkins out. They had a good time. There were definitely some kids too old to be trick or treating.

I had to confiscate all the tootsie pops. Those are my favorite.
