Jay Fawcett is running as a democrat agains Joel Hefley in 2006 for Congress, I sent him an email asking if he supports mandatory storage laws, magazine capacity restrictions and "assault weapons" bans, his reply is below:

"We are working to build a newsletter for all interested voters and

intention is to collect questions for the newsletter.

That having been said, it hasn't happened yet.

Weapon safety is an important issue.  All weapons should be sold
with
trigger locks.  All weapons should be fingerprinted for both ballistics
and pin strike on the cartridge at the factory and the data should be turned
over to the FBI.  Caliber and rate of fire should be the determining factors
in whether or not you need a Federal Firearms license to purchase a weapon.
