Anybody know if there is going to be any Gun And Knife Shows at the Durham Fair Grounds this year. I have not heard or seen anything yet and they are usually the 2nd or 3rd Weekend in October. I think they also run 1 or 2 more in the winter and spring.

I believe there is a show the weekend of the 22nd.

I'm headed back to CT for that weekend, and it is on my must-do list

(Considering my home is almost on the Durham border)

Thanks for the info. You can usually get some good deals on ammo when you look around.

It's on 10/23 and 10/24, hopefully there will be some "reasonable" mags there!

Maybe some pre-ban lowers at reduced prices ( yeah right).

I don't think any local deals in CT are going to be as smokin as online deals.

Buy to keep your local stores in business, outside of that, I dunno what we can do.

I actually got some decent deals of of Ebay Uk. They have some SA80 Mags. I bought one for about $20.00 USD, When I got it , it was actually an HK G26 mag in great shape. Yes I know the people at Ebay are a bunch of idiots when it comes to thier listing policies regarding "assault weapons".

I will be going to the showin Durham, I am missing Springfield today because of a family wedding and tomorrow my club is running a big cowboy shoot I have signed on to help at.I actually live so close to the Durham fairgrounds that I would walk If I wasn't planning on getting a case or two of ammo

Looks like Saturday is a GO for me...

The question is... do I bring my AR project cash with me... or play it safe and go with enough cash for an emergency phone call? Don't wanna blow it all on an impulse buy

I am gonna do Sunday morning when I get out of work. The past couple of years when I went I was suprised by the lack of "AR" stuff. Hopefully that will change. Last year I got some decent Nazi underwear.

I keep hearing different dates...
So... 23/24th for sure?

Ill probably go... get some ammo and stripper clips... maybe a new toy.

The ar stuff has been mixed, one show (second one ?) had a fairly good array of ar stuff, other times it has been poor.
I wouldn't have high hopes on buying any guns in less you have your sights set on something oddball and just happen to find one.I think if any dealer is selling something extra cheep some other dealer is going to snap it up before any of us slobs gets in the gate.I am happy to go and handle stuff to see what I like best and then buy it on the net. Lots of odds and ends and heavy ammo can be had at a decent price if you know what the shipping would have cost you. If you are buying something used or surplus it is nice to lay your hands on it and check out condition.
Me and my buds are going sat early and then heading about 1 mile (if that) south to TIME OUT TAVERN for lunch.Good local place for great food or a quick beer.(and I don't even drink anymore!)

The good ole Time Out Tavern.. I was there years ago when it was a dive. My Captain goes there often and I guess it is pretty nice in there now and the food is decent.

Its deffinitely the 23rd and 24th.

For me the only reason to go is for cleaning supplies and surplus Ammo.

It reminds me more of a flea market then a gun show.

You are absolutely right!

I was supposed to go today but my old lady took my truck to work

Can someone give me a recon report when they get back from Durham? How was the show? I might try and get down there tommorow. Anybody see any Ace socom stocks 4 sale?
Thanx

Fairly good
Two good size ammo guys competeing (always keeps them on their toes)
lots of mags, some reasonable many priced crazy
many knife tables
try the Blackstrap jerky
usual cast of crazy dealers and crazy customers
Saw a table with a "COLT SPORTER" post ban and as I am walking away I think "WTF" and before I walk back to ask about it a STATE COP has the dealer yank the AR and some kind of HK looking rifle off the table rack.(we can not buy a "COLT SPORTER" post or pre ban in CT)
Did not see the outcome of this but 3 min later saw another State cop checking AR's on another table. He wasn't really looking over the guns he was just reading the side of the AR's. Hmmmmm

let's see, I saw some transferable NFA goodies that I can't afford, and some that I can...

there was an AR-180 for $7500 and a MK2 sten for $4000, and an HK MP-5 with can for $13,000. There were also some cans that I could sort of afford, but I made no commitments and ended up buying a brick of primers.

Some of the mags were priced to high I thought, but I got some ammo and an old USGI footlocker to store my stuff and ammo in.

Hi guys..

The mags were ridiculous. Some guy tried selling me 30rd AR 15 mag made in Singapore with no label and tilting followers for 30$. Another guy had Hi Cap Glock and Sig mags starting at 45$. I wonder how these guys stay in business. What fool would actually buy at those prices?

The guy with the AR180 is always there. So is the gun..

I met Joe from SKD and he's a nice guy. I plan on ordering some stuff from him this week.

There is a guy who is always at the shows in the NE area with some nice knifes. He had a few to many Chris Reeve Aviators and was selling them cheap, $155NIB with all the extras.

For the most part it was just more of the same. Guys with flea market tables and over priced items.

Another guy was selling used OKAY 30 rounders for $30.00.
