Mine came yesterday, and they look good. I want to load them up and store them in ammo cans. How long will it take for the springs to get weak?

You can store them for years and years before the springs will get weak. What makes them weak is when they get compressed and decompressed often.

The springs wear out from use. They won't "set" so to speak. I absolutely hate loading magazines at the range. I leave quite a few mags loaded at home so when range time comes I just throw a bunch in the range bag.

Boy do I need some kind of loader. After about 1.5 hours, I now have 930 rounds loaded in 31 mags.
Yeah Book, I know this is a pitifully small collection of mags, but it is a start for a poor college kid.

Those are the ones they sell in the southern states. Up north the followers are blue.  Press down on the tip of a green "anti-tilt" follwer. See how it tilts? Now try that with the Magpul.

I was noticing how much one of my green "anti-tilt" followers tilted, it got stuck. The magpull followers hardly moved at all.

Ordered mine Tues night and I got em today!!
I got the fancy followers too, I was thinking about the magpuls that go on the bottom of the mag itself, you know the rubber dealies that you grab the mag with. My mags with the green and old school black followers tilt big time, I cant seem to tilt these new ones at all Great price+fast shipping=happy bastard If anyone is on the fence on this one, I'd move on it, the price wont last forever. These aren't steel POS mags, they are aluminum alloy with 6 spot welds on each side, very good quality. They are also dated 11/05 just in case the dems want to screw around with our RIGHTS again. Now I gotta justify to the wife why I NEED more.... I got a feeling she aint gonna buy it. at least I got my 20! time to load em up! |
