The wastefull BS of our current administration is sickening.  They may only be cars and some may be past their prime, yet the mandatory destruction of decent vehicles just pisses me off.

Lovely isn't it. Obama's way of ridding the country of gas guzzling, smoke belching, carbon emitting cars and trucks. I myself prefer older vehicles because you can do some of the work on them yourself w/o a full service garage. I was watching a clip on Fox News this morning showing some of the better vehicles destined for the crusher. You are right it is stupid. Perfectly good vehicles wasted.

But this will to some extent back fire come winter. How many of these folks who went for this are pushing the limits of their finances or just plain lied on the loan app.? Come time to start paying heating bills there will be a rash of repos. So who loses here? Once again the banks. Will they tighten up their loan process again? What will be the long lasting effect of this on the economic situation? All this will be is another false start. It will look like we are going somewhere just to fall back in a few months. The question is will other parts of the economy be doing good enough to absorb the fall?
