From the VCDL today:
Good news! Two pro-gun bills have passed out of the full House
Militia, Police and Public Safety committee this morning! Here are
the bills:
HB 162, Delegate Lingamfelter's bill to keep private property and
employers from banning lawfully possessed firearms in locked vehicles
in parking lots.
HB 1265, Delegate Janis' bill to keep the government from disarming
us in case of emergency or disaster. (Delegate Hurt's 1024 was
rolled into this bill.)
Those bills now go to the Floor of the House for a vote in 3 business days.
Now for the bad news:
The restaurant ban repeal (HB 146, Delegate Cole), Alaska car carry
(HB 1106, Delegate Athey), and Alaska carry (HB 1105, Delegate Athey)
are all coming up in Militia, Police and Public Safety subcommittee
#3 Monday morning in 7:30 AM on the 8th floor West conference room!
Subcommittee #3 is the committee that is composed of 2 Republicans
and 3 Democrats. One Democrat, Paula Miller, is a swing vote on
guns. She is an the unusual position of being able to become a
heroine if she votes correctly on those bills!
She voted wrong on university carry, but I am hoping she will vote
with us on the others. Let's send her an email encouraging her to
vote with us on the key bills:

Dear Delegate Miller,
Please support Delegate Athey's HB 1106, which allows a person to
have a concealed handgun in their car without needing a concealed
handgun permit. Eleven other states have such a provision.
Also, please support Delegate Cole's HB 146, which allows a concealed
handgun permit holder to carry a concealed handgun in a restaurant
that serves alcohol as long as the permit holder is not drinking.
Thirty-six other states have such a provision in their laws.
Sincerely,
