What are the best surplus stores in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area? I used to go to Boeing Surplus down in Kent when it was still open and it was fun to just look around at the tons of items they had there.

I'm not looking for surplus guns per se just used items in general like how Boeing had. I know they have online sales now but it's not even remotely the same as it was going there in person. I used to buy junk I never even thought I needed, it was great.

Here's a thread with many such stores listed....some with descriptions, others just an address.

Thanks, those are mostly gun shops though. I was thinking more of general merchandise, oscilloscopes, furniture, screwdrivers.

Perhaps we really don't have a place like that anymore.

WA State Surplus (http://www.ga.wa.gov/surplus/direction.htm#Auburn) is in Auburn. It could not hold a candle to Boeing, but it can be a place to waste an hour or so if you manage to hit the open hours. They have a lot of pure junk (like Boeing) but they also used to surplus off the TSA takeaways. Bins after bins of Swiss Army knives and scissors.

btw - the new editor sux.
