Tell me what crimes could be solved with a front license plate?
Wouldnt logic dictate that if the vehicle is moving and you can read the front plate, the vehicle will eventually pass or turn and show you the rear plate? Yes maybe in those rare cases where the bad guys make a tactical escape and evasion manuever by driving in reverse a front plate might help. But how many freeway chases do you see where the guy drives in reverse just to hide his plate?
Remember that the left (and many times the right, okay well any politician) uses your emotions to sell something they want passed. Require front license plates------->solve MORE crime!! But how? It sounds good but it is complete BS.

Shit I don't know, I didn't claim crimes would be solved with a front plate. I said it's fucking stupid.

Shit I quoted the wrong guy.

No worries...I'll answer, since he was quoting me. And remember guys, I said that I was playing
the devils advocate. I personally think that one man is using anothers well-intentioned idea for profit (meaning that $$$ is behind the whole deal). Now, to answer "what crimes would be solved" -
The original article suggested that people witnessing an incident involving suspects with a vehicle stood a better chance of providing police with information if there was more opportunity to get identifying information (hence a front plate). As for "how many crimes have been solved because of front plates" - well plenty. I can think of a hit and run where the front plate left a perfect reverse copy of itself on the dead persons leg. I can think of a case where video surveillance caught the front plate of the get-away car.
All arguments are valid; "Bad guys can switch plates", "Bad guys can steal plates", "It's just the man trying to photograph me speeding", "They just want my money" - none of this can be refuted. But remember..."we the people" do not vote in the demographics that will prevent this from happening should it come to that.
When it comes down to it, most people will overwhelmingly fork out more cash when their safety is questioned.
