Who's going to take a gamble and go?

I'm planning on hitting it around 10 a.m. Saturday.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has been to this one recently...last time I went was 4-5 years ago and it was abysmal.

I personally like it better than Richmond. A lot of the same dealers but with less gangstas.

I'll be there working the VCDL table - depending on others, I might be there Sat. afternoon, or Sun. morning.

The show is much better than 5 years ago. It's still a smaller show, but at least it now has more gun dealers than beef jerky sellers.

Take care,
Bob S.

Bob,

I can remember Fisherville having some great shows, back around 1991 or so......then again, that was when you could actually find guns at the Dale City VFW show!  Guys from NOVA will be able to relate to that....

I'm gonna shoot for Sunday and make the drive down.

FYI I'll be bringing some stuff to sell or trade. Like new Walther PK380 with 120ish rounds of FMJ ammo, New box of PMC .45 FMJ, 72 rounds of FC 65 vietnam era rounds in original 20 rd boxes (one is missing 8 rds), and bushmaster stock with the tube and spring only, and a never used Hornady Projector press with Hornady powder dispenser.

Looking for cash, 5.56 rounds and mags, and .38 spl rounds. I'll check here in the morning before I go so message me if interested. I'm a big guy with black hair wearing a black "Have you seen my zombie" shirt.

Wow, show was packed!

Lots of stuff, not much AR stuff IMO. A little reloading stuff scattered about, lots of gats, no ganstas, mag prices already , scopes, saw some forged uppers and lowers that were just raw forgings. Saw some $100 stripped lowers, lots of ammo boxes, surplus stuff, bunch of ammo and they had funnel cakes too. Have fun parking.

Waaaaay more people than I thought. I got there at ten and had to wait about 5 minutes to get in. Prices were higher than Richmond a few weeks ago. Only saw a few tables with AR mags with the best price ten bucks for the new GI mag with tan follower. I did pick up a can of 500 Georgia Arms reloads for $125. It's a few years old and came second hand. All were LC 87 brass. Had the original price of $75 covered up by the new tag. Wonder when it was loaded?

Darn! I brought some in March of 2006 at the Showplace from GA Arms and it was $90 per 500. I still have it.

I got there at 10 as well, I saw the mags with the tan followers. I got a couple small things, nothing to brag about.

The parking lot was messed up. they plowed the snow and just put a big pile right in the road up front.  Interesting how there were several Saiga 12 and some mags for sale. I didnt have a lot of money , between pay periods, I got a couple of 40mm ammo cans and some small odd and ends. First time to the show there, no gangsters ! I prefer the Showplace show I think.

Anyone else see the Norinco 1911 NIB for $695?

I forgot about that one.

I saw some of the new Colt Government Model sweet.

I didn't see the Norinco but I almost fell in love with a Colt defender. I have an XD .45 now and may be looking for something a little smaller frame to carry. Never had a 1911 but I like the Defender. $800 though.

The Norinco was still there on Sunday - and it was the most crowded I've ever seen that show on a Sunday!

All the dealers I spoke to said they had a good show - good number of sales.

I didn't see anything I "had to have" - almost bought a Springfield Armory "Range Officer" 1911, but I'm holding off until I price check with a dealer I know.

Take care,
Bob S.
