I was up at 400 J&L picking up some Glock mags and Magpul floorplates and saw one hanging on the wall. It is very very short and looks awesome. I still can't believe it holds 14 rounds in that tiny SBR sized package.

I can't bring myself to buy one, but if you haven't seen one in person, it is pretty cool. I wish FN or Benelli would make something similar, and I would buy it in a heartbeat.

mind saying what the street price is?
Link Posted: 1/6/2012 11:01:04 AM EDT
It is very expensive. I will leave it at that. Since they only make a very small amount of them, what should be a $650 gun when production gets better, is many times that amount now due to demand.

Some people that have ordered one a long time ago got them for under $700, but most pay much more these days when buying online and locally.

Looking over at the Kel Tec forum it seems that many are finding them at the $850 to $950 range while gunbroker is in the $1500 range.

Though if Kel Tec ever gets them out in quantity the actual price should be closer to $650.

i'll try to convince the fiancee that I have to have one if I can get one for $650 down the road. I really want one! :D
Link Posted: 1/6/2012 11:53:31 AM EDT
I got quoted one for 6 a couple weeks ago,
Not sure what I would do with it though, I like my saigas

And of course I'm seriously lacking 6 to spend on anything, never mind a cool guy shotgun

Why won't you share what the price was?

I saw it, but I will not get into their business. Give them a call, I'm sure they will tell you.

Probably about a week's pay after taxes for you Rob.

I guess I'm lost. Is it that embarrassing for them or something?

Agreed seems weird.
Must need a secret handshake to find out.

I've been wondering how this shotgun was gonna pan out. If they appear to be problem free and the price starts dropping I was thinking about picking one up.

Price is $2,999

They will sell it for $2,500 out the door

"Sent them an email requesting cash OTD price. This was thier responce:"

We would take $2500 out the door for the Kel Tec Shotgun.

Thanks,
Matt

oh.my.word.

i'd imagine they're going to keep it for a little while at the price. its a cool concept an all, but it is no obr or ma-ten.

That seems a bit ridiculous....even if they did only get one.

It's better for them to just say its not for sale in my opinion...That's what I would do...If some guy wants to make an offer they can't refuse that's fine. Several stores would not sell their display Ruger LCP when they first were hot and it made sense to me. It gets people in the store and they can put one on backorder.

Nope! The one I held that they're asking $2500 OTD for up 400 had the same issues as the one T&E gun I held and shot previously. That gun, BTW, went back to Keltec for repair after the mag selector failed and for a few other deficiencies. Additionally it should be noted that if you ever attempt to do any serious shooting with this shottie and fail to use a forward grip of any sort, you're taking chances with losing a hand and wrist.

I suspect the lack of a FG with the gun as is from the mfg won't last long as they're going to either get smart or sued into oblivion.

If it's anything like that POS PMR-30......

I just don't get people's fascination and at times obsession with Keltec products. I especially don't get why people would ever pay a premium to be Keltec's beta testers.

I have a friend that handles the gunbroker stuff for a local fun shop, they got one in, started bidding at $1, and it went for $3000.00 within 6 hours

The keltec guy is one of the greatest firearms inventors of our time and one of the worst at deploying it. He would make a fine addition to a company who could take the prototypes and get them into quality production.

Lmao off at 400's price. Sheesh...

Keltec makes a cheap gun, period. There is nothing spectacular about their manufacturing. While the design may be cool, for me, thats where this ends because Keltec is incapable of producing to the level of quality that $650.00 demands in a shotgun.

I believe in the free market system but $2500 is laughable. Like the old saying says, "Theres one born every minute"

Why would I ever want to consider a poorly manufactured cool design that has bugs to work out for $2500 when I could have a well maufactured, completely functional Benelli M4 with the military stock for under $2000.

You already know...

Cool kids with money, not sense, do anything to be different.

I get what Rob's saying... Look at some of the old Grendels.... But that didn't last.

Supply and demand use to be a way for businesses to make money..... Thanks covert for your business.

I know it's supply and demand and all that but those wholesale for less than $600.

That being said, I hope they find a sucker buyer.

Yup.

I can wait till the cost comes down. If it ever does.

And if not then I'm not going to suffer. My Wingmaster has always gotten the job done.

Yep, I'd love to have one but my old ex-GA Dept of Corrections 870 that I rebuilt is my go to shotty.
