rumor has it that fin will be opening a new store on bagley rd. in May of this year.
I have always wanted to open a store like this in the cleveland area. A gun store with friendly knowledgeable customer service in the cleveland area is unheard of.
I for see all the grumpy, snobby over priced crappy gun stores in the area to close.
now if we can just get a indoor shooting range that isnt a $hit hole to open with friendly knowledgeable customer service in the cleveland area.

Hmmm thats very interesting. I look forward to not having to make the 96 mile( one way) trip now. Good for them.

If they manage to get half the level of selection, friendliness, and overall customer service that is in their current location - I'll have very little reason to patron most of the other Cleveland gun/outdoor stores.

All we would need is a decent range around here

If that is true,

Interesting ... if it happens there will be competition for B&T.

I agree with everything in this thread.

Local gunshops/ranges suck? Check.

Long drive to FFF? Check.

Bank account in trouble if this does happen? Double check.

Hopefully it goes through.

YES.  That's all I can say.

I hope they bring their reloading department with them too.

definitely. I have bought four firearms from Rich.

Didn't want to make the 2-3 hour round trip adventure to Ashland.

B&T will be hurting. Rich and Jerry are good guys, but if they can't beat the prices at fin, I will go there.

I love Mike, Nancy, Jim, and Rich, but... they can't seem to understand what the market wants. Why compete with Gander Mountain for the hunters? They are ten years behind the curve and should have been buying tactical stuff. Its a shame they lose so much business to the internet, gunshows, and shops thirty minuts to an hour away.

The Middleburg Heights store actually has more "tactical" stuff than their other stores. Also seems to have more high-end H&K, Kimbers and SIGs. The Mentor store is severely lacking and seems to only have a good selection of Ruger and Taurus guns. I haven't been out to their west side store in ages.

I would just love to have a reliable and reasonably priced source for reloading components. It hurt when Pat's stopped coming to the gunshows.

You can still pick up your order at Pat's.  You just have to call and let them know you are coming.

being a HK /benneli and kimber dealer, requires them to by X amount of guns and with kimber that also means buying there high dollar rifles

Now that we've established having Fin up here in Middleburg Heights would be awesome, can anyone confirm this rumor?

I'm tired of getting my hopes up.

As the owner was quoted in several newpapers, Mike is 99.9% sure that it will happen.    Planning is definitely in full swing for the opening of a store at Bagley Road. April 1 is the target date but may slip to May.

Compared to Cleveland area Columbus is full of great stores.

Columbus has Vance's, 2 Gander Mtn's, Aumiller, Powder Room, AimHi/New Albany, and Blackwing. All of those are pretty serious either as a store, range, or both.

Those are just a few. Compared to Cleveland Columbus is a saturated market. I grew up and lived in the Cleveland area for 21 years and can't name that many gunshops, or shoting ranges. B&T and Stonewall and some place out on the east side. Top Gun Supply, which is open maybe one day a week and is mostly there for internet sales, small one on on 42 near downtown Medina, Atlantic Gun and Tackle, and there's another on 82 in the Sagamore Hills area that seems more interested in selling watches.. They are all pretty small time and offer very little as far as hunting.

Then there's Dicks. <sigh> Cleveland deserves this satellite store and I say this as a lover of Fins and Friends and a Columbus resident.

this will be great, it will save me about 10 minutes off my normal trip to the ashland store. i buy 90% of my firearms fro mthe fin. the simply cant be beat, besides vances. b&t is high on 95% of their items. ammo i order online cant beat the prices. firearms the fin is the cheapest. someone told me in brunswick they are opening up a bass pro shops.

I haven't heard that but I read a article in our local Medina County newspapers back in 2007 that a Cabelas was going up somewhere off of I-71 and 303. I also heard it was put on hold but who knows.
