Rig,
Thanks for jumping on this and also giving me a bit of a wake-up call. So, I am in the process of trying to determine if we can have the N. NV ArfCom Fall Shoot to be held at the Mustang Range. I'd like to see if I can secure this venue as then we would not have to contend with any LE training or other non-ArfCom personnel. Plus they have both pistol and rifle accommodations. I will be speaking to the Manager of the range today and will provide the details thereafter. 19October sounds do-able...any other dates to consider? SPEAK UP N. NV ArfCom! Keep The High Ground, G |

You should see the stuff we bought today

Well, so far it sounds like Oct 19th may work.
I would be fine with the Mustang Range in Fernley if G can make that happen. Otherwise, I remember the police range master telling us last time that we could call ahead about the availability on the two far bays at the Carson range for a Saturday. |

Howdy Boys! Just finished speaking with one of the managers from the Mustang Range and advised him of what we are trying to schedule. He is currently out of town and will be returning this weekend. Once back in town, he will check to see that there are no other events planned for October 19th. He did mention that if we are going to have any Class III on scene, that we will need medical support on site. As most of you know, I have an extensive history working in EMS. I also can reach out to a friend who is a Physician Assistant, again with many years of emergency healthcare experience. We will need to have some fire extinguishers, E-Z ups and water available for hydration purposes. They operate under certain agreed-upon guidelines with Fernley/Lyon County. I also advised him that there will be approximately 10-20 shooters, possibly more...and that many of us are RSO qualified. The conversation was very positive and it looks like this may happen at Mustang Range. If any of you have any further input, recommendations or advice...speak up. As always, I am happy to spearhead these events and look forward to seeing you guys there. Keep The High Ground, G |

Howdy Boys! Just wanted to give everyone some follow-up on the possibility of using the Mustang Range for the next N. NV ArfCom Shoot. I spoke to my contact today and it looks like we are a 'GO' for October 19th. I was advised that this would be for all day/no night time shooting (although they are not opposed to night shoots) The manager that I am communicating with also states that we should bring plenty of water and shade. He is going to see about scheduling a tour for me as they have been making improvements to the range, we are looking at possibly next Saturday. They have 3 rifle ranges and a pistol range large enough to accommodate a "large class of CCW students". He did mention that there may be a small 'use fee' involved and I'm thinking that we can all chip in on this...he assured me that it would not be extravagant. They would like some kind of hard number as to how many people are going to be participating...I mentioned that there are about 20 of us, but would definitely like a spot on show of hands. I do have some other info on the range, but it is of a sensitive nature and would prefer not to broadcast on the world's largest gun forum.

Awesome news, nice work G. On the corporate whore (MOA) end of things, if you guys want to order anything to be picked up at the shoot, please do so before Sept 29. I'm having wrist surgery (always switch hands while fapping, gents, learn from my mistake) on the 30th, so if I get orders in by the 29th, they'll get processed in time to deliver at the shoot. After we had had our sustained fire and some people had left, there were still about 10 of us just hanging around shooting-the-shit and occasionally going up to the line and letting a few downrange. Once we decided it was time for chow, we still had to break down the range and police brass. I would imagine that this upcoming event will be similar...lots of us, lots of guns, lots of shooting and a good dose of N. NV Arf-camaraderie

I'm gonna be crippled for this event, having surgery done on my right wrist on the 30th, and the doc said no using my butchered wrist for shooting until I get the cast off in December. So I'll be limited to stuff I can shoot off hand unsupported.
Speaking of chow, we're in the middle of nowhere out there. Do we want to bring a couple gas grills and do hamburgers/hotdogs/rocky mtn oysters? Since I won't get to shoot much, I don't mind playing cook. |
