A public gathering would be anything like a BASEBALL GAME, PARADE, CONCERT, ect...or anything private that is posted no firearms unless you are LEO then you don't apply to any of that.....  Big no no for Parks, any place serving alcohol for consumption, and most other common sense stuff.  Public gathering would NOT include something such as a MALL or department store.

No real need to inform on a traffic stop unless it is going further than a ticket or you are reaching around where you keep your weapon ...in which case I'd rather you tell me.  Granted  some of the guys around here are complete TOOLS and will have the entire dept show up while he retrives your weapon to DL it and check the serial number.  Hopefully if you do encounter one of us, he will be have been around awhile and will be happy to see an honest gun carrying civilian and it shouldn't be a big deal.
You can carry LOADED and CONCEALED ANYWHERE including your person inside the vehicle.  It doesn't have to be in a locked compartment.

Your FL CCW law is pretty much the same as it is here and your permit is still valid.
