With the passage out of committee of Senator Marsh's gun show bill, SB 1257, the assault on gun owners seems to have begun in earnest. As pointed out in the previous thread(s) on this, everyone needs to write, email, and/or call their (supposed) representatives.
But, that's not enough anymore. We need to make our presence felt.
There were three representatives who changed their votes. Each of these three were supposedly friendly to the RKBA community, and would have gleaned many votes from gun owners because of this. They have betrayed the trust of the community.
My suggestion: We pick ONE of those three, and begin working actively for their defeat in the next cycle. We start right now and and we do it loudly. In Virginia, we have the NRA and the VCDL to use for support. We have the AR15 HTF. Most of us belong to other forums as well (I belong to Brian Enos, Glocktalk, and Tidal Fish). Others of you will belong to some other sympathetic organizations - fishing, hunting, church, sports, etc. Get started now, and make some noise.
Apparently, Quayle won 59% - 41%. Deeds and Norment ran unopposed.
Neither of these three are particularly well known to me, so I don't know which one of them might be the easiest to unseat. Anyone who might have some insight on this, please respond ASAP.
If we can get organized quickly, and make it obvious what we are doing, perhaps we can get the attention of some of these so-called public servants, and prevent this bill (and similar ones) from passing.
There HAS to be a cost to these people for their actions.
