Spring will be here soon and we need to start it off right.

How about the first saturday of spring. March 25 at the new range in the Cherokee NF? Gives me a good reason to go check it out.

Maybe afterwards we can hit one ot the picknik areas and cook some food.

Ideas?

Directions pulled from net:

TO GET THERE From I-75 Exit 20: From Chattanooga go to Cleveland Exit 20, turn right onto U.S. Highway 64 and go east to U.S. Highway 411. Turn north and go through Benton and across the Hiwassee River. Past the Etowah Utilities pumping station, turn right onto Spring Creek (Gee Creek) Road. Pass the state ranger’s office, continue on gravel road past railroad tracks and campsites to shooting range and parking area on the left.

I'm up for that. I can offer a few pre-approved folks a place to stay locally there. Tesnevo has family in Cleveland as well, IIRC????

Yankees are welcome (it is a public range).

I would say the range is halfway between Chattanoga and Maryville a couple miles off of Hwy 411

Reliance, TN. Hwy 30, IIRC?

My driveway in Nashville to there is about 3 hours driving time. So if you wanted to/had to, you could do an up & back in one day.

I'll try to get a precise location from my cousins.

I'm interested in finding out where this new range is, since I live in Maryville. GPS coords would be great!

Would like to shoot Saturday, but I work. Maybe next time.

I might be able to come.  I just live over in Knoxville, so it isn't too far at all.

Don't forget guys, I'll be your new Maryville neighbor in about 9 months along with my wife and soon to be baby boy.  Can't wait to meet yall up there and do some shooting.  Are there many good places to shoot near of in Maryville?

The two popular spots are 40 minutes away.  Not too bad but could be more convenient.

I live in Maryville. If some folks want to get together (maybe breakfast) and convoy there we can work it out.

My girlfreind and I will be heading out that morning after eating.

Went to this range a week and a half ago (on Tuesday) had it all to myself. Not a bad range for $3 parking.

Going this Monday to test some of that Wolf M193.

ETA: I had to stop to ask directions my first going there, so here are the GPS coordinates.

I suck at directions, hence the GPS.

I come in on Hwy 30 to Reliance and then take 315 to Spring Creek rd, from there it is about 1.5 miles of dirt road to the range. If you come in on Spring creek road, off of 411, it's paved for about a mile, then there's 4 miles of dirt road to the range, but the distance is shorter.

Look's like you take the road over the Hiwassee River at Webb's Store. Pretty simple from there, hopefully.

It is a nice range. Even has bathrooms for the old lady.
If you are going north on 411, just turn right onto Spring creek rd.
The road will turnto gravel as you enter the park.
Keep going strait, the road will cross
over the rail road tracks and follow the river.
Seems like it was about 4mi. on the left.

By the way, have you guys had good luck with
Benton Shooters Supply?

I bought my last 1911 there, as well as my best spotting scope. Basically, they're a bunch of good old boys. Get them away from deer rifles, scopes or shotguns & they're kinda in deep water, IMO. Nice guys though & the check-out girls are thisclose to making me commit an illegal act!

+1 on all the above especially the checkout girls. At least they have some black rifles and other stuff.
