In October, I will be driving from NC to NJ to visit some friends.  I simply refuse to put up with the faux security bullshit at airports.

I will be bringing along a firearm for protection, and wanted to know the legality of doing so.

I checked the tacked NJ Laws, and saw that my Semi-Auto Mini Uzi is illegal there how                                      Glock 17, 9mm                      17, 19, 33 round mags
                                     Glock 26, 9mm                      10, 12, 17, 19, 33 round mags
                                     Beretta 92FS, 9mm               10, 15 round mags

Which of those, in what combination with mags, would be legal in NJ?      I dont care about legality of posession in any of the states I'll be travelling through, just New Jersey, where I'll be staying.

Thanks to anyone with any insight into these weird Yankee laws.

So how about these:

                                     Glock 26, 9mm       10, 12 OK, 17, 19, 33 round magsNO
                                     Beretta 92FS, 9mm               10, 15 round mags OK

No more than 15 rounds are allowed in NJ. DO NOT carry it anywhere in the state, or have it loaded in your car.

ETA- Do NOT enter New York State with any handgun. If you do not have a permit from NY state, you cannpt bring a handgun into the state unless you were just passing through.

Make sure you have receipts  for your guns.  If soppted by the POPO, they will be confiscated and you will be arrested.  Carry the guns unloaded and in the trunk of your car in gun cases.  Keep the ammo seperate.  The glock 26 and berreta is good,  The G17 is ok w/ 10 rounder.  If you are thinking rifles.  An SKS or Ruger Mini.  I know post guns are legal, But the NJ POPO really do not know the difference.

I am a Jersy LEO.

As long as you have them locked up in a proper manner for travel (in trunk or other reasonably secure/not easily accessable location in car [NOT GLOVE BOX] with ammo kept separate and also locked securely) I don't think you'll have any trouble, even if you're stopped by the police.
