He states that this rifle isnt for sale in several states including NY. Does he know something that I dont or is he just choosing not to make it available to those of us in states which traditionally dont allow anything that could be potentially dangerous or fun?

You guys need to edit out that link. It looks to me like he just doesn't want to deal with anyone from NY. If that's the case fuck him.

AR15.com is a New York based company. The guy doesn't seem to mind using a NY company to help sell his products. Goatboy should throw his dumb ass off the site.

Cut and paste? sound like a generic gunbroker write up. The part that says " Please have them send in the FFL copy soon after the auction ends. Please have the FFL write the name and auction number of the item being purchased on the fax." stands out

I sent an I.M questioning why, perhaps we can set him straight before loosing another vendor to Albany.

Great point. I always love the "Fuck NY" threads in GD where we get shit on and then you drop the fact that arfcom was founded by NY guys and is still run from NY.

This is a copy of our correspondence, simple mis-understanding.

sorry i copied and pasted the ad.  Are you interested in purchasing it?

No Sir I am not interested in purchasing the rifle, only solving a potential problem:
We in NY have quite a time with Dealers/Distributors/Wholesalers/etc. refusing to sell legal items  to NY residents simply because they do not understand State Laws.
I would much rather help BOTH sides come to an understanding giving everybody a win. This problem came in the form of a thread on the NY Hometown board; it's happened before and so far we've been able to set a few people straight.
thanks![/quote]

sorry guys, accidently used the template for AR-15's, hope I didn't cause too much trouble!  Happy holidays!

Pre-ban AR-15s with all the evil features, AND post-ban neutered AR-15s, are perfectly LEGAL in NYS as well.

Thanks for the update. As long as your rifle ships with a five round capacity (or less) mag it is also legal to possess in NYC too.

Just an FYI, any postban/preban semi-auto rifle/shotgun/pistol or +10 mag that was legal to possess under Federal law when the Federal AWB was in effect is legal to possess in NYS today.

The problem is a person or dealer not familiar with NYS law will read the ad by an industry partner and perpetuate the incorrect info that a friggin' bolt action rifle is illegal to posesss in NYS. The ad still states that the rifle cannot be shipped to an FFL in NYC which is also incorrect. We have enough real anti-gun laws in NY without dreaming up non-existent additional restrictions.

I had a Southern FFL tell me on the phone the other day that they couldn't ship me an M1A set up  in a Troy chasis. Worst part was that they called ATF who told them they were right. I was like, you HAVE to be kidding me. How do you think I can sell police officers , who are exempt from the state ban, a  patrol rifle if I can't legally receive said rifle? It took me an hour of calling them AND ATF in NC and Syracuse to resolve the dilema. I could even understand the NC ATF guy not knowing becuase he had to look up NYS laws in a book, but the Syracuse ATF person who steered him wrong should certainly have known better.

I was going to order a bunch of 1911 parts from Numrich including a receiver.  Come to find out they will not transfer any FFL items to NY residents.  The worst part is the company itself is in NY.  Assholes.

I used to buy stripped receivers from Century Arms, and had them shipped to a long standing 01 dealer; about a year ago I went to order another one and they will not sell to NY dealers. Of course the salesman had no idea why or what to do....in fact about the only thing they will ship to NY is C&R rifles.

FWIW: I've also asked Century to explore the option of shipping items restricted to LEO/Military to 01FFL's with the understanding that these items would not be saleable to NY residents, however that should not preclude a State and Federally Licensed dealer from procuring such items for resale to eligible persons or out of State.

Three and a half more years, that's it and I'm the fuck out of this State.....I'll move to "Shove it up your ass, West Virginia" were they don't put up with politicians crap.

numrich should know better, being based out of NY
it amazes me how many people think NY gun laws are as bad as California, its that whole deal where we get lumped in with CA.
