This is a man under heavy recoil. He is shooting Mary's grandson's 22.

If that rifle was any shorter he could rest the butt on his earlobe
With a lanyard he could wear it for an earring.

Well if it's as organized as today's shoot was, I'd guess most won't be there.

Perhaps a weeks notice would be a good idea.

So far I've got in mind;

1. A bake sale rummage(gunnage rummage) sale -auction -contest and shoot day.
(and garbage pick-up)

2. Profit from "sale and shoot" pays for the dump fee.

3. Willing dumpers of garbage get something?

The wheels are turning but us steam powered grannies have a lot on our minds.

man that little guy was perty fun to shoot...i mean what...i would never shoot one of those...
As far as a clean up, as soon as Deltafred and myself got there we were talking about something like that. The first one would realy suck, but i bet if we made it a yearly thing we could keep up. And i bet if some of the people showed up to a clean pit they would be more prone to pack out their trash.

About cleaning up a shooting pit...

From the times I helped clean the pit in GF I learned that it's pretty much a waste of time.

How many times did we clean up the pit only to arrive the next weekend having it look worse than before.

How many times did was clean the pit while "other shooters" stood around watching us, and some even leaving their trash while we were cleaning.

I say more power to you and good on you for cleaning up the pit, but unless the Forest Service is willing to let you dump the trash and is willing to hold and sponsor clean-up days it's not worth it.

I bet something could be worked out with them.

We should get the guy that is always bitching about the pit in the newspaper to help

The ATV'ers use the pit a lot in the summer. Perhaps a fall clean-up would be more advantageous to this crowd.
