<=== Notice the tag change.  First again, but props to Photoman for the idea.

I'll start the ball rolling...

Fargin awsome class again, Sully!  A little different than last time; some new stuff, and some stuff that we learned in October that didn't make it in this time,  In any event, it was a pleasure shooting with y'all...even the FIBs.

Email your photos to EfEmDee <at> Gmail.com, and I'll assemble a page similar to this one.

Anything else from me will have to wait until I've had a hot shower and a good night's sleep.

-FMD

PS: 2 to 1 odds the MN boys have added "-CY6- M.O.S.S." to their tags by the end of the week.

A great class, especially given the number of shooters.  Learned some new stuff this time around, showing why you can't just go to one class.  I had a lot of fun, not a whole lot of downtime, and this weekend also proved the old "if it ain't raining/hailing, we ain't trainin'" adage.  If you missed out this time, don't worry, as the range was very pleased with the class, andsome of the board members hope to have Sully come back.

BTW, I redeemed my Cap'n Bumpalot stutus during lunch.

Glad to hear it all went well. This class really is a great 2 days at the range. Did you guys get to 2-step?

Now to get that handgun class going

It was nice meeting all you Wisconsin boyz!  Very good class; I'll have pics and a review of my own up soon, and will post a link here for all to see.

Got a couple *great* pics of folks doing "the drill that shall not be named".

Once again another great DETC class. Sully thanks again for a great weekend of training. I look forward to getting some classes set up at the club for next year. To everyone thatcame out and participated in the class I also want to say thnk you again. The clubs Board was really impressed with how we conducted ourselves, one of the board members cam down durring the lunch break Sunday and said that they'd love to bring Sully back for more classes next year, but if I got anything to do with it there be one or two more before next year. So a big thanks to everyone.

I'll get my pics up in the next day or so.

Also if you haven't even been to the Tactics and Trainingsection of AR15.com, please stop over there and hit the polls that are posted.  Sully and Tony are trying to get a better understanding of why people do or don't go out and get formal firearms training. The responces they get can only help to improve the training that we can get.

It wasn't that bad, a little rain here and there on day one, a little hail real quick but nothing major. It was nice enough out that FMD and I and I'm sure a couple other folks got some color. In FMD and I's case it was RED.

Oh and one other thing if you look at the class pic there is one youngster in the group. He's 14. Durring lunch on day two a couple folks wanted to go practice some of the stuff we had learned  and he went out there durring lunch and ran the meltdown, not once, but twice.

OK first off keep a sense of humor,,,I gotta get this off my chest cause I haven't seen a sh!t detail since I was in the Army, twenty some odd years ago. When i saw some of the range members on thier hands and knees,on that breaker rock, picking up brass I about had a flashback.
No disrespect to the crew, but whoever is in charge of that facility needs to be usurped.THAT PLACE IS A GEM!!!I thought my place was rough,I chalked the rough terrain up to good training, and it was way better than the plow furrows at tattoo's.

Six or so loads of packed, crushed limestone would do alot to improve the 25 M range. The breaker rock is a ideal base.Brass could be mostly raked up instead of  hand picked. The road condition is a joke,no access to vehicles SUCKS.When I got my truck to load out I remembered I had an airsplint in my kit, could have come in handy. The porta pots,,,F-in third world,I feel bad for the women training that weekend,,,too many people walking around and not many bushes to hide behind.

Micaluk compensators and low berms make for good training. The sound of bullets whizzing around, broken up concrete and the block bunker gave the range a Lebanese kind of flava,Miculuks providing the arty simulations.

The range we shot 1-200 M was really nice,I could hang out there all day.As popular as the RCLRC sounds,it baffles me as to why that place isn't looking cherry and hosting some kind of class every weekend.

I would train there again but next time I will be better prepared and would gladly pitch in an extra five bucks for a fresh porta-pot.

...more later with pics coming

BC I so know what you mean not just about the road, but about the 25meter range. myself and kaboom who was on of the ROs there keep pushing to be able to drop some new stone and we want to do pretty much exactly what you said. As to the road, we wanted to redo that too, but there has been a hold put on a lot of things because of the situation with Wisconsin Electric. Eventually I guess thats going to be new rail line when/if they ever start to build the new coal plants there. After that than the old range road is going to be brought back into service. from what I hear it's a really nice road.  And i oh so hear yabout the port o johns man.  If I can make the next board meeting i'll mention it to a couple folks.

As to why they are not hosting aclass every other weekend, well I don't really know. i think they need to do more of that as well. We just got some new blood on the board though this past year so we'll see what happens.

Easy you two.  I ran AnnieO's USP this class (I know,  sacrilege!) 'cause the meltdown's hard enough without the 5 mag changes required with the 1911.

The combat tupperware backed by 95 year-old steel (or vice-versa) isn't a bad system.

I just wanted to stop by and say how great the class was. It was an excellent beginner/intermediate class with alot of info and then some.

Sully was an excellent instructor. He was patient with the noobs but still kept a very good pace with little down time.  Shooting at 300m and hitting the target was an eye-opener.

My wife and I enjoyed the class immensely. We came home tired but with alot of knowledge.

Kudos to the Arfcom guys for setting this up with Sully! Thanks guys!

RCLRC is a guest of the Military and the state of Wisconsin for the last five years W.E. has been trying to bye the land and put up two new power plants,Im glad to say that this will not happen as far as the road goes RCLRC has put thousands of $ and time into a road that is not ours the road belongs to W.E.
W.E. will be putting in a new road in the future we hope as far as the range being cherry us as a club can only do so much as it is property of the Goverment Rick Z AKA KABOOM and I took our week end to act as R.O.s so the board could get a feel for this class I was one of the board members the Mark came to about this months back and I told him that I would support and help him with it I met Sully and was very pleased with the way he did his class and shared that with my fellow board members He is welcome back to RCLRC mabet next time I will take the class (Not to Much Work for this x 11B) lol

Thanks for your comments.Even more thanks for supporting Photoman, and those pushing training.
I'll say it again I would come back again, low berms, road or no road.
I don't have any credentials but I would like to get some someday. When I talk about making the place 'cherry' is less filling potholes and more utilizing the space to train and compete as often as possible.
I met Kaboom he's a nice guy I didn't have a chance to talk with you but I think I can remember who you are. Thanks for taking your time to R.O.

Nice job!
I also wanted to mention that some of what you listed as things you would have liked covered (non-standard response, etc) are sometimes covered in this class. In my experience Sully modifies the curriculum slightly to best suit the pace and experience of the students, as well as the facility.
I have taken this class 3 times now and it has been slightly different each time. The meat and potatoes stuff remains the same, but the garnish changes
I think it would be safe to assume that most anything left out will be covered in Carbine 3.
With the 2 day Handgun class coming up, a 2 day combined  advanced Carbine/ Handgun would be a cool class for the future in WI

Dutifly noted in the aforementioned IM's to shooter.

There were a lot of things covered in October that I would have liked to see at this class, but my guess is that we progressed as fast as the slowest of us could handle (which was probably me ).
