Time for another DFW dinner in Jan. This time a special guest from Brit is making an appearance. Here's the reference thread Well since he is already being treated to a BBQ at the shoot the following day. What other TX cuisine is there but TexMex. Since he is staying in Plano let's have it at:
Cozy Mel's (972) 964-2809 5021 W Park Blvd Plano, TX 19:00Hrs. (For you civilian types that's 7:00PM) Unless you want to partake in their wonderful Margaritas then make that 18:00 (6:00PM). I will be hanging out at the bar area. Reservation for 7PM is under my first name: Al They can and will do seperate checks. Since this is a large party a gratuity of 18% will already be added to your individual totals. Post here or respond in the poll so I know how many people to reserve for. I need a head count at least by 5Jan06. This place gets crowded for dinner, specially Sat., so I need a fairly accurate head count. |

Girls or no girls allowed? LT, you be the judge because you have all the experience with DFW women...
Of course girls are allowed. More the merrier for everyone. And my experience with DFW women can be summed up in one single phrase. "I JUST WANT TO BE FRIENDS" |
Not sure if I can make it. Still trying to get someone to cover for me on Saturday. Hey, at least I got Sunday off for Tom Bean!
Can't let you sit around being bored. |
Besides the Hun Farm, this is going to be one of the busiest DFW crew weekends... How long you staying again? Maybe we can make it out to the farm! hehe |
Definitely. Got Dallas Stars hockey on Friday night, shotgun class on Saturday morning, lunch with Market Hall crew, Market Hall on Saturday afternoon, Saturday dinner, and Sunday at Tom Bean range. |
HRT4ME, you and Tami bringing some chicky snacks??? Blondes or redheads please. Hopefully none of them are from TX.
LT,
Is CozyMel's in the old chinese restaurant building with the jade green roof, facing the Macaroni Grill? maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=5021+W.+Park+Blvd.&csz=75093&country=us&new=1&name=&qty= How's Leon getting there since he'll be staying in Irving? mm |
Me, Mrs. bigsapper and little bigsapperette are in.
Haven't eaten there in years. |
Hopefully it will just be a 9 to 5 that day. How do I find you guys when I get there?
Nope the building you are talking about is a JAPANESE not Chinese (2 different countries, 2 different languages, 2 different cuisine, same slanted eyes ) restaurant called Osaka. Its still There. This is on the same side as Macaroni Grill. Staying in Irving??? He said on his thread he is staying in PLANO |
Hopefully, I will have my kids, if I do, it's a no go for me, if not, I will be there.

You live in Plano, and like 98% of all other Plano residents you came from California. California doesn't even know what Japanese food is. I reread the thread, for some reason I kept thinking he was staying in or near Los Colinas.....and I did mention that DART would take him to the 6th Floor Museum and AAC. The building was constructed in the late 80s, a chain of Chinese restaurants owned by Pilsbury. The chain was rather extensive in DFW, they only lasted a couple of years. Most of the buildings remained empty until the mid-late 90s, the one in Mesquite remained empty until 2003....now La Posada, a Phillipino place. I knew the one on W. Park in Plano had reopened into some sort of restaurant. I just didn't know what it had become.....which is why i asked. BTW, did you ever try any of the place that I had mentioned that have fish tacos? If you did, were they any good? ETA: The Stars v. Ducks game is on Friday the 6th, tickets are still available. mm |
What about the Tortilla Factory in "down town" Plano? Better than Cozy's...
Aparicio's. Good cabrito but I'd prefer cozlmels. |
Yep for a chain restaurant Cozy's is pretty good. Margarita's aren't bad either. Just got an IM from LeonUK. Seems he is staying less than a mile from me and a few miles from the restaurant.
Guess you'll be the designated chaffeur then... |
Yep....I already volunteered. Homie needs someone to take him to the gunshow and Tom Bean though. |
Leon, I will volunteer, either TB or gunshow, or both....IM ME |
Leon, you really need to change the "all" to y'all now that your are headed for Texas. You will know what I mean soon enough... |
You're right! I used to live next to a Texan here in the UK. He kept saying "Do What?" and "y'all".
Anyway, Happy '06 y'all |
The Ex-Miz Hun and I might be there.
I'll confirm it closer to the day. Eric The(Whipped)Hun |
Edit, Didn't read the date right. No still can't make it. The wife and I are having a 'Date Night'. |
So have a double date with 15 or so of your favorite ARFCOM buddies |
Although I missed that dinner, I think ETH pulled that one on Miz Hun once... |
So far I count 15 maybe 17 if ETH and the Mrs comes. Seeing as history dictates we normally have a 10% no show. I will stick with 15 for now.
My "scente-ments" exaclty.... |
We'll be there for the fun show and lunch, but won't be able to make the dinner. The Big Guy will be tending to the smoker, and I will be tending to his wood.

Did you guys go shoot today? |
Yes, but we didn't get there until after 3:00 p.m. I looked for you, but did not find you. |
Oh bummer - we were there - on the skeet course. Left around 4:30 or a bit afterwards. |
I will try my best for saturday night..............but I need to sleep because I have to work at about 2:00am,
and when I get off I will be getting ready and loading up for tom bean. I might go, but I will be tired. |
Really? I scanned the people over there once or twice to see if you might have been there, too. Sorry we missed you. |

La Hacienda Ranch in Frisco. Home of the frozen magarita. The best beef (chicken is good but doesn't compare to the beef) fajita's in DFW or maybe anywhere. The other TexMex there is awesome too.
I agree! What's it got to do with *this* thread? |
yeah, and they have more locations now to.... |
